Tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live ended in a huge way as Shane McMahon fired his rival, Kevin Owens after he failed to progress in the King of the Ring.
Shane had replaced the injured Elias in the Semi-Final against Chad Gable and placed Kevin Owens in the match as special guest referee, warning him to do the right thing in order to lose the $100,000 fine that is hanging over his head.
However, Gable managed to pick up a pinfall victory within a minute of the main event. This forced Shane to change things and make the match a two-out-of-three falls match with KO doing his best to help Shane actually progress to the King of the Ring finals.
But despite Shane’s best efforts, Chad Gable forced him to tap out with an Ankle Lock in order to get the win anyway, with Shane attacking Owens after the match out of frustrations.
However, Shane took things to the next level afterwards when he grabbed the microphone to tell Kevin Owens that he was FIRED from WWE.
