Now that’s a dress! Cate Blanchett lit up the red carpet at the IWC Schaffhausen Dinner in honor of the British Film Institute on Tuesday night.
For the glitzy gala that kicked off this year’s London Film Festival, the 47-year-old Australian actress donned a fresh-off-the-runway Gucci creation that featured a plunging neckline and show-stopping ruffles. The long-sleeve ivory and black silk wool gown from the brand’s spring 2017 collection was cinched at the waist by a crimson satin bow that accentuated the star’s lean silhouette. Blanchett styled her blonde bob in elegant waves and kept things relatively simple in the makeup department with a subtle smoky eye and a dewy nude pout.
The Oscar winner—who was awarded a prestigious BFI fellowship last year—presented this year’s IWC Filmmaker Bursary Award to Hope Dickson-Leach, an up-and-coming British writer-director who beat out three other nominees for the grand prize.

“I am so pleased to be here to celebrate four remarkable and unique filmmakers being supported at the beginning of their career by the BFI and IWC,” Blanchett said in a statement. “I wish all the filmmakers involved great future success.”
