Numerous wrestlers and backstage employees have left Impact Wrestling this year, but the company appears to be looking to hire more names in 2018. PWInsider has reported that Tessa Blanchard is still rumored to be appearing at the television tapings for Impact after Bound for Glory. Sami Callihan is also said to be appearing on some of those shows. New Japan Pro Wrestling’s enlish commentantor Don Callis (or Cyrus) has also apparently left to join Impact. The new report was also able to verify that they have had discussions with Ricochet about possibly joining the company with his girlfriend Blanchard. It was also mentioned that Reno Scum’s recent departure was done as a cost-cutting move.
John Morrison is one wrestler who has done very well for himself since leaving WWE. He has seen tremendous success in Lucha Underground and AAA as Johnny Mundo, and he also recently joined Impact Wrestling as Johnny Impact. Morrison will also be the star of a brand new film coming out soon called “Never Leave Alive.” Morrison will be portraing Rick Rainsford, who is described as being “trapped on a deserted island with his reluctant companion, Anna.” according to a press release, which further explains that “while attempting to save another gravely injured survivor they find themselves hunted by Zaroff, a sociopathic ex-KGB Agent long with his partner Ivan. In spite of their differences Rick and Anna must work together to disarm Zaroff’s deadly traps, survive his assistant’s brutal attacks, and escape the island alive.” The film is set for release on November 7th.

The Shield reunited for the first time since 2014 just a few weeks ago, and though a match featuring the team has been put on hold due to Roman Reigns’ recent illness, the group has finally made amends. A new schedule featuring all of the upcoming programming on the WWE Network has been released. The most intriguing show listed is a brand new episode of Table for 3 featuring Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins of The Shield. The episode is set to air this Monday night immediately after Raw goes off the air. All other programs, such as 205 Live and NXT, will be airing in their normal time slots as usual.

Wrestling Compadres recently interviewed ROH Star “The Villain” Marty Scurll about joining The Bullet Club and more. Below are the highlights from the interview:
On his friendship with The Young Bucks and replacing Adam Cole in The Bullet Club faction: “When I came to Ring of Honor. I’m really close friends with the Young Bucks and have been really hanging out with them a lot, it just seemed like a natural fit. The reason why I believe we get along is because we share the same kind of love for professional wrestling; we have the same kind of mindset. We want to make wrestling fun; we want to push the boundaries; we want to build this company; we don’t just want to do a Ring Of Honor pay-per-view and put on great matches because every wrestling promotion in the world has matches. When I joined the Bullet Club, they would just be me doing a Tweet and say that I joined the Bullet Club, but we were like, no, we wanted it to be a big deal that I joined the Bullet Club, and make Bullet Club a number one worldwide trend, so,in our minds that is exactly what we are doing.”
On his “Villain” character making him a great fit for The Bullet Club and helping him stand out from the pack: “I think you just have to label stuff for what they are. What is he? He’s a villain. I always thought my best way to stand out above anyone else was to be different and do something different, and I always liked playing a guy that goes out there and be a villain; especially with companies like ROH, New Japan and PWG; the action is so fast and furious and there’s so many guys; guys like Osprey, who is very impressive in the ring, I ask myself how I can stand out? They’re all doing 450 splashes so I asked myself if I should do 950 splashes, or just become a character? So, really that’s my approach to wrestling, which is to be different.

“The fact that I’m British, which I play to that as one of my strengths, but people here, if I say a funny word, they’ll say that it was hilarious what I said, but that’s just me being me, so even that, being confused by my real name and all, but overall, I’m just having a good time with the moniker and playing that role; it’s not so much a role, but me going out there and being me and being hated for being me.”

Jeff Jarrett has gone through a rather turbulent few months as he has lost his job in Impact Wrestling, and he also recently checked himself into rehab for alcohol abuse. He checked into rehab after a wrestling promoter informed news outlets that Jarrett insisted on wrestling even though he was drunk. Jeff Jarrett has remained silent over the past couple of weeks, but Karen Jarrett recently posted a new photo of herself and her husband on her Instagram account. Visitation is allowed during treatment, so it is possible that the photo could be showing the first time that Karen and Jeff have seen each other since Jeff checked in a few weeks ago.

Not only is Kenny Omega one of the biggest stars in New Japan Pro Wrestling at the moment, but he is also one of the greatest talents in all of professional wrestling right now. He has put on several outstanding matches this year, he’s continued leading the Bullet Club to victory, he is currently the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion, and he will be facing Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12. It does not look like Omega is going to be joining WWE next year though, because the Wrestling Observer Newsletter now claims that Omega will be re-signing with NJPW. His current contract currently expires on January 31st, 2018.

The Bullet Club has continued to reinvent themselves over the past couple years to keep the act fresh. They have mainly done so by bringing in new members after others have left the group. At a recent Melbourne City Wrestling event in Australia, the Bullet Club inducted a new member into the group. Bullet Club member Bad Luck Fale teamed up with “Mr. Juicy” Gino Gambino to defeat the team of Helter Skelter (Ali and Jake Andrewartha). After the match, Fale offered a Bullet Club t-shirt to Gambino. He accepted the shirt from Fale and Gambino is now officially the first Australian wrestler to join the popular faction.

Impact Wrestling has had a pretty difficult year due to the legal battle against the Hardy family, Jeff Jarrett being let go from the promotion, as well due to the numerous departures that the company has had this year. Impact Wrestling is currently going through another rebranding attempt as they relocate the company to Canada permanently. Just today, Impact announced a major change to their management team: Don Callis (formerly known as Cyrus) and Scott D’Amore have officially been hired as Executive Vice Presidents of Impact Wrestling. The new additions to Impact were announced today by the promotion’s parent company Anthem Sports & Entertainment.
The change will see Callis and D’Amore work with Impact President Ed Nordholm as part of a “3-member Executive Committee with overall responsibility for developing the creative direction for the Company and managing the execution of the Company’s business plan,” according to Anthem’s official statement on the matter. Callis will be doing the job while continuing his work as a commentator for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Despite the changes, some members of the production staff will be staying put. Sonjay Dutt will continue to serve as a producer and in a creative capacity for the company. Abyss, Gail Kim, Jimmy Jacobs, and Jeremy Borash will be staying on as producers. Bob Ryder is also expected to stay on as an executive.
According to PWInsider, expect some more departures to come as a result of the recent management changes. Top names are expected to be leaving since the company wants to focus on hiring Canadian talent, but Johnny Impact and Taya will not be among the talents leaving soon since they have recently signed new deals with the company. Impact producer John “Big” Gaburick is reportedly leaving the company early in 2018, and Dutch Mantel either has already been let go or will be let go early into 2018 as well. Both have been expected to leave for a while, and in Mantel’s case, he apparently lost his postion of power as soon as Jeff Jarrett was let go earlier this year.

Australia has suffered a “momentous” security breach involving the publication of cabinet discussions spanning more than a decade after two locked filing cabinets were bought from a second-hand shop and prised open, revealing thousands of secret documents.

According to ABC News, which obtained the documents, the filing cabinets were sold at a discount by a furniture shop in Canberra because they were locked and no-one could find the keys.

An anonymous person bought the cabinets and several months later opened them with a drill, unveiling a trove of documents marked “top secret” or “AUSTEO” (meaning for Australian-eyes only).

The discovery prompted the head of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s department to order an urgent investigation and has already resulted in embarrassing revelations about the governments of former leaders Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott.

Professor John Blaxland, an intelligence and security expert at the Australian National University, said the breach was “quite disturbing” and ministers should ultimately be held accountable.

“The revelations reveal a lax approach to security,” he told news.com.au.

“It is a sobering reminder of the need for accountability and responsibility.”

Adding to the embarrassment, the documents reveal a series of hitherto unknown security breaches by Australian officials, including almost 400 national security files lost by the Australian Federal Police.

The files, lost between 2008 and 2013, were from the National Security Committee, a committee of the government’s most powerful ministers – including the prime minister – which makes decisions about wars, counter-terrorism, foreign relations and other security matters.

The documents also revealed that 195 top-secret documents were left in the office of Penny Wong, a former finance minister and now a leading opposition MP, after Labor lost the election in 2013.

The documents themselves were not disclosed but apparently involved defence plans to protect the United Arab Emirates from Iranian hostilities, details of missile upgrades and profiles of terror suspects.

Mr Abbott said the release of the trove was a “momentous lapse” and appeared to be due to a mistake by a bureaucrat who had disposed of the filing cabinets without checking them.

"Obviously some absolutely elementary mistake has been made, presumably by a relatively junior or mid-ranking departmental officer,” he told Radio 2GB.

“Certainly someone needs to pay a price, there needs to be some consequence for what is a monumental lapse."

ABC News, the public broadcaster, said it had decided not to publish any documents “if there are national security reasons, if the information is already public, or to protect the privacy of public servants”. Typically, cabinet documents are not released for at least 20 years.

The breach came as Australia’s spy agency, the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, warned that the threat posed by espionage and foreign interference was worse than during the Cold War.

“While that was obviously a very busy time in that period of history, our assessment is that it’s not on the scale of which we are experiencing today,” Peter Vickery, a deputy director-general at the agency, told a parliamentary committee.

"During the Cold War our adversaries were readily identifiable; it was the Eastern Bloc, the Russians and the East Germans for example. In the current climate, we are facing a raft of different countries that are seeking to conduct espionage and foreign interference. It is a lot more blurred.”

In December, Australia introduced laws curbing foreign political donations and lobbyists following reports about growing meddling by other countries, particularly China.

Elon Musk’s super-rocket has taken flight and overshot Mars’ orbit, going further out into the solar system than originally planned.

His cherry-red Tesla, carrying a dummy and blasting Bowie’s Life on Mars, was supposed to take a path around the Sun which would take it out into Mars’ orbit.

It appears the super-strong rocket, with twice the firing power of any before it, overshot that trajectory and is has now pushed the Tesla into an orbit which extends into the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

The inventor’s rockets are twice as strong as the Saturn V rockets, which carried men to the moon during the Apollo era.

Video footage from the Tesla showed it cruising into space for six hours, giving views of the Earth from the perspective of Elon Musk’s old car.

The rocket was supposed to have one final engine burn before launching the car out into its final orbit, but it appears the engine was a little too strong.

The successful launch of Falcon Heavy astounded half a million viewers, and delighted Musk, who had previously told reporters he gave the endeavor a 50:50 chance of success.

He said before the launch that he would consider it a success if the rocket exploded without damaging its launch pad.

However, viewers saw the rocket seamlessly launch into the air, towards Mars, in what some called the most spectacular feat since the 1960s.

It is hoped this advance means that we can make great steps in space exploration, including launching more sophisticated and heavy robots onto the surface of Mars, and as far out as Jupiter, Saturn and their moons.

Because the engine overshot, it is unclear what will happen to the car. Elon Musk previously said there was a tiny chance the vehicle would hit the surface of Mars on its expected path.

However, despite the unexpected trajectory, the rocket has shown it is capable of pushing objects out into deep space.

Also, many scientists want to one day mine asteroids for raw materials, so it is perhaps encouraging for them that the inventor has shown he can put objects into the asteroid belt.

President Donald Trump has praised Elon Musk, writing: "Congratulations @ElonMusk and @SpaceX on the successful #FalconHeavy launch. This achievement, along with @NASA’s commercial and international partners, continues to show American ingenuity at its best!"

Nasa has also congratulated Space X, Musk’s company, which used its launch pad.

Acting NASA Administrator Robert Lightfoot congratulated the entire SpaceX team on the successful launch of the Falcon Heavy.

"All of us in this business know the effort it takes to get to a first flight of any new vehicle and recognize the tremendous accomplishment we witnessed today," he said.

Kennedy Space Center Director Bob Cabana also expressed congratulations to Space X on the launch of the Falcon Heavy.

"The successful launch of a new vehicle on its first flight is a significant accomplishment they can be very proud of," he said. "As a multi-user spaceport, I look forward to the continued expansion of commercial spaceflight from Kennedy and the integration of a new class of launch vehicle into our Nation’s space program."

British scientist Richard Dawkins tweeted: "Many congratulations to @elonmusk, visionary friend of science, and surely the world’s greatest engineering designer."

Musk himself seemed awed at what his company had done.

After the launch, he admitted: "It’s surreal to me."

He also said he had visions of it failing, explaining: "I had this image of a giant explosion on the pad, a wheel bouncing down the road and a Tesla logo landing somewhere.

Frankie Kazarian was still stuck in his southern wrestling character. Big Money Matt Hardy approached and offered him water from the Lake of Reincarnation for $500 that would snap him out of it. After a prolonged negotiation Kaz drank the water and returned to his normal self.
Matt Jackson told Private Party that he was dead ass.
Mr. Brodie Lee berated Silver, Alex Reynolds and Evil Uno for failing to recruit Jungle Boy or Hangman Page to Dark Order. Uno put on a football helmet to avoid getting hit with a stack of papers. Lee told him to take the helmet off and hit him with papers anyway.
Page approached FTR backstage. He thanked them for saving him on Dynamite last week and asked if they wanted to get a beer at the hotel bar. They agreed. Page left with FTR and told Cutler not to tell the Bucks where he went.

On it being harder to maintain his ability as he ages: “The older you get, the less energy you have to maintain it! It is what it is, but if you still have that drive and you can still do it, why not? Get in the gym and get it done, and look good in the meantime.”
On if his family gets angry with him being gone so much and a hint at retirement: “Work hard now, you enjoy it later. In a couple of years, I’ll be able to catch every football game, every baseball game, every basketball game, cheerleading, gymnastics, whatever they’re in.”
