Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast tweeted that he was told that rapper Cardi B will be the host of this year’s SummerSlam. Cardi B’s song “Up” was featured in a SummerSlam commercial that aired during SmackDown last night.
On HBO’s The Shop, Bad Bunny spoke with LeBron James, Maverick Carter, Jay-Z, and more about his experience wrestling at WrestleMania. When asked if wrestling is real, Bad Bunny said: “It’s real. It’s 100 percent real. No, it’s insane. The work — when I was learning the first days and they were teaching me how to fall, the bumps, I said, ‘How can these people do this for 20-30 years?’ Guys like The Undertaker, Triple H. So many years…receiving that pain. It’s crazy, but I love it.” Bad Bunny said WrestleMania was the best moment of his life and he moved to Orlando for three months to train for the event.
The Undertaker and Triple H both posted tweets responding to Bad Bunny. Triple H tweeted: “[Bad Bunny] dedicated the time, effort, and passion necessary for a world tour into his performance at #WrestleMania. He’s not only a lifelong fan of our business but a member of our @WWE family who earned all of our respect along the way!!!!!”
The Undertaker wrote: “Well said, [Bad Bunny]. You did us ALL proud at #WrestleMania.”
Fightful reported that Josiah Williams was released as part of this week’s WWE cuts. Williams joined WWE as an on-air digital talent based out of the Performance Center in 2019. He’s made appearances on NXT, along with recently making Cameron Grimes’ theme music.
Giancarlo Dittamo was also let go by WWE in this week’s cuts. Dittamo did production work for Game Changer Wrestling prior to joining WWE.
WWE has filed trademarks for the names “Carmelo Hayes” and “Trey Baxter.” It hasn’t been revealed who will be using those names.
On Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, Natalya and Tamina spoke about how important Tyson Kidd’s work as a producer is to the women’s division. Tamina said:

Eleven years ago when we first went up against them, I remember just the littlest things, TJ was already in that mind frame. He was wanting to make the matches mean something and blow them out of the water. I remember doing the first matches on the show. On the house show, the first match is going to build and blow everybody up. They would blow it out of the water. Or if they were the main event they’d blow it out of the water. That’s just TJ’s mind frame. You fast forward to him becoming a producer and doing all these things. You can’t even imagine. He gets a million text messages a day because we’re all picking his brain.

This man is a mastermind behind everything we all do, and he gets every single girl. That’s what the difference is. He knows everyone’s moves, he knows how to protect, he knows how to make everything great and amazing. I really don’t know what we’d do without TJ. That’s the whole point to this whole thing. He is that mastermind behind it all and he executes everything and he gives us that confidence to come through with whatever it is we put together. That’s him and he’s like that. He is a strong ass man. He is a real man in that sense, but he loves and gives everything to us. Everything.

AEW’s YouTube channel uploaded the full Countdown to Double or Nothing special that aired on TNT tonight.
As part of her one-year title reign celebration on last night’s Dynamite, Hikaru Shida was presented with a new AEW Women’s World Championship belt that’s bigger than the previous version. Shida tweeted: “Thank you for watching #AEWDynamite. I will never forget about tonight. With new shiny belt. (That was my first promo in ring!!!)”
During an interview with DAZN, Britt Baker was asked whether turning heel or her unsanctioned match against Thunder Rosa was the bigger game-changing moment in her career: “I think we can go two different ways on that. I mean both in a sense. But I think turning heel is what led me on the right path up the mountain because I feel like I was just lost. I was never actually starting my climb to the top. But I think that Thunder Rosa match is what got me to the top of the mountain per se. I never would have gotten to the top if I wasn’t on the right path to begin with.”

Sting told Paste Magazine about how he’s preparing to return to live in-ring action at Double or Nothing: “I’m trying to work a lot on mobility, that’s for sure. I don’t recover as quick as I used to, either, so I have to really watch how I train, so I don’t overtrain because, I’m telling you, you just don’t recover the same. I’m still feeling the effects of the powerbomb that I took from Brian Cage [in February 2021]. There are a few kinks I still have from that one. Otherwise I’m preparing the same. It’s the same kind of stuff, I just have to think about when I do it and what intensity levels and all that. I’m trying to get the heartrate up as much as I possibly can, so the stamina’s there to go with these young guys. Yeah, I’m getting ready — I am ready.” Sting & Darby Allin are facing Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page at tomorrow’s PPV.

Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay (formerly known as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in WWE) released the second episode of their Off Her Chops podcast.
Lee and McKay appeared on Busted Open Radio earlier this week and discussed being shocked by their WWE releases:

McKay: I wish I knew. To be honest, when I say that — it was a total shock. I had no idea. When I got the phone call, I thought it was in regards to something else. I was like, ‘Oh, they need me to do something. I’m needed for something else’ and when I heard those words, ‘We’re going to release you,’ my heart dropped and I was just — I was so shocked and I was just heartbroken and I don’t have any answers and I don’t think I’m ever gonna get answers. So at the moment I’m just trying to have peace with that.

Lee: So it was absolutely a shock because obviously they do the budget cuts once a year but they hadn’t done it in a while and then I thought last year’s was just purely because of the pandemic so, I didn’t see it coming and maybe I should have, especially because I was really doing nothing since they split us up so, I was like laying in the middle of a massage in my bedroom and the husband [Shawn Spears] walks in and says, ‘You should probably check your phone’ and I was like, ‘Um, okay’ and then I checked it and I was like, ‘Yep, I’m done.’ Jumped up off the bed not wearing anything and that’s when I realized what was going down. Complete shock and I feel like we’re still going through waves with it where it’s like one day I’ll feel like so free and so excited for these opportunities that now we can take upon ourselves and then other days I sit there wondering like, ‘Ah, I just don’t understand’ and like Jess, I don’t think we’ll ever understand because I don’t think there’s much of a reason other than cuts had to be made.

Lee and McKay also spoke about AEW and Impact Wrestling as potential options for their next destination:

Lee: I think — it’s tough because for example, AEW, I think we could really help their women’s division. They don’t necessarily have a women’s tag division, I could be wrong, I’m not sure. But I just feel like we have that TV experience that we could bring to the division and help build that up and with IMPACT, they have a women’s tag team division, a well-established — the Knockouts division that I easily feel we could slip into so it’s like, I feel like we have a lot to offer both of them and it’s — I don’t know, I don’t know.

McKay: It’s tough. It’s tough to figure out where you think would be the best fit because we are wrestlers but then we are heavy personalities and characters and we love that so I think it’s just blending the two like we always have and just figuring out which company we think we would be better with, you know? AEW or IMPACT.

Tony Marino, a former bodybuilder who became an international star in the 60s and 70s, passed away earlier today at the age of 90.

Born Tony Silipini, his death was first reported by Cauliflower Alley President Brian Blair, who was a close friend.

“Tony Marino left us this morning to go to a better place. I’ve enjoyed Tony’s company for many years, especially the last six months in the rehab facility, where we would visit almost every week. Tony was able to see his 90th birthday on April 20th. He was most humbled by his recent induction into the KWSA Hall of Fame. Tony will be sadly missed.”

Silipini was a name bodybuilder in the magazines in the 50s, who placed sixth in the 1953 Mr. America contest along with winning best chest.

He started wrestling in 1956 under his real name, with his bodybuilding credentials exaggerated into being a former Mr. America winner. He started using both his real name as well as Tony Marino depending on where he worked, and also was known in Australia and Hawaii for Jim Barnett and Ed Francis as Dino Lanza.

He wrestled full-time through 1977, usually as a top babyface star. from the mid-60s on.

His first major stardom came in Pittsburgh in 1966 as Battman, when Batman became a huge television show starring Adam West. The gimmick is best remembered in Pittsburgh for Bruno Sammartino’s promotion and Studio Wrestling. Sammartino, when he’d speak about how he didn’t like all the gimmickry in wrestling, it would be brought up by people that he used Battman as one of his top babyfaces. At times he was accompanied by John Foti as Robin.

His unmasking on Pittsburgh television was one of the most memorable television wrestling moments in that city of that era.

In the WWWF, Marino would come in at times but he was based in Pittsburgh and would regularly team with Sammartino.

He was best known for a run as the WWWF International tag team champions with Victor Rivera. The two defeated Toru Tanaka & Mitsu Arakawa for the titles on December 9, 1969, in Madison Square Garden, winning two straight falls. They held the titles until June 15, 1970, where they were in the co-feature under Sammartino vs. Crusher Verdu, losing to The Mongols, who were Josip Peruzovic (later Nikolai Volkoff) & Newton Tattrie. The tag team title match was a huge part of the show which broke the 50-year old Madison Square Garden gate record set by the legendary Earl Caddock vs. Joe Stecher match.

In the 70s, Marino had his most success for The Sheik in Detroit and Toronto, headlining and drawing many big crowds as a single, but more often as a tag team, being the regular partner of Flying Fred Curry and Bobo Brazil, and holding the area’s NWA world tag team titles seven times.

Un peu oubliée depuis quelques années, l’ancienne chroniqueuse de l’émission culte On a tout essayé (France 2) Isabelle Alonso refait parler d’elle. À 66 ans, elle a un nouveau projet sous le bras : le journal satirique Siné Madame. Elle en parle dans les pages de Voici.

“C’est un journal qui est fait par des femmes, pour les femmes, mais aussi pour les hommes. (…) Là, nous travaillons avec des filles de sept nationalités différentes, ce qui rend les points de vue beaucoup plus riches. Ce journal, c’est de l’humeur, de la dérision, mais on envoie le coup de poing quand il faut“, clame-t-elle pour détailler ce projet. Un féminisme qui lui colle à la peau depuis “l’enfance” comme elle l’affirme. “Mon père était fier de moi comme de mes frères, donc je n’ai pas pu développer un sentiment d’infériorité.“

Isabelle Alonso poursuit sur sa vision de la vie en affirmant par exemple avoir longtemps associé “le mariage à la mort“, ne comprenant pas “l’engouement pour la robe blanche“. Une liberté de ton et d’état d’esprit qui a d’ailleurs participé à sa volonté de ne pas devenir mère. “Je n’en ai jamais eu réellement envie. Je mesure la chance d’avoir eu le choix. C’est exceptionnel dans l’histoire de l’humanité. Il faut en être consciente !“, dit-elle. Côté coeur, l’amie de Laurent Ruquier dévoile ses critères : “J’aime les mecs intelligents et virils, ceux qui ne sont pas dans la démonstration. On confond souvent le machisme et la virilité. (…) À côté de ça, un mec qui repasse sa chemise, activité féminine s’il en est, peut être craquant de virilité et sexy à mort“, dit-elle. Messieurs, vous voilà prévenus !

“J’ai peur de ne jamais pouvoir rejouer comme avant“, a confié Isabelle Albertin, 60 ans, pianiste de l’Opéra de Paris depuis plus de trente ans. Dans une interview accordée au Parisien ce 2 juin 2019, la musicienne a raconté le malheureux accident dont elle a été victime le 17 mai dernier à Paris, jour où elle a été percutée par une trottinette électrique.

“Je n’ai rien entendu, ni vu venir“, s’est souvenue celle qui accompagne en musique les petits rats de l’Opéra Garnier. Isabelle Albertin traversait le jardin Nelson-Mandela, devant la canopée des Halles, lorsqu’elle a été renversée par l’une des nombreuses trottinettes électriques qui ont envahi Paris depuis plusieurs mois. Au final, la pianiste dont les mains sont si précieuses se retrouve avec une double fracture du bras droit. Même si elle a été opérée dans une clinique spécialisée de la main, elle craint de ne plus jamais jouer du piano comme avant : “Tout ce que je sais, c’est que la rééducation va être longue et difficile. J’angoisse terriblement de ne pas retrouver la sensibilité de ma main droite, de la force dans mon bras et de l’agilité.”

Isabelle Albertin compte bien ne pas en rester là. En plus de porter plainte contre la Ville de Paris, elle a décidé de créer une association de lutte contre l’anarchie urbaine et les incivilités : “Sur les trottoirs de Paris, c’est le bordel. Nous, les piétons, sommes en totale insécurité, a-t-elle affirmé. Nous sommes assaillis par les scooters qui empruntent les trottoirs, par les trottinettes qui foncent, par tous les deux-roues à cause des travaux partout et de l’incivilité. Moi, je voudrais retrouver de la sécurité !” Un témoignage qui survient alors que l’Assemblée nationale se penche cette semaine sur la loi d’orientation sur les mobilités visant notamment à réglementer l’utilisation des trottinettes électriques.

WWE has announced the two matchups that will be featured on this week’s episode of 205 Live.

Ari Sterling vs. Ariya Daivari will take place on 205 Live this Friday night. Also on the show, Daivari’s tag team partner Tony Nese will face Asher Hale.

Sterling (formerly known as Alex Zayne) and Hale (Anthony Henry) are both new additions to the 205 Live roster. Sterling was part of the group of signees that joined the WWE Performance Center last December, while Hale joined the Performance Center this February.

Sterling made his WWE debut by defeating Samir Singh on 205 Live three weeks ago. He lost to Nese the following week but then defeated Hale on last Friday’s show.

Hale’s WWE debut was a loss against Cameron Grimes on NXT three weeks ago. On 205 Live, Hale has defeated Daivari but lost to Sterling.

In storyline, Nese and Daivari are the veterans of 205 Live who don’t like newcomers to the brand. Nese & Daivari were most recently in action on NXT last week, losing to Hit Row’s Top Dolla & Ashante “Thee” Adonis.

Avec quelques minutes de retard sur l’heure prévue (16h) et après l’union civile un peu plus tôt, Karine Ferri a fait une apparition lumineuse devant la petite église Saint-Victor, émergeant d’une Jaguar vintage blanche dans une somptueuse robe de mariée en dentelle. Aussitôt mise à l’abri de l’engouement du public par de grands parapluies blancs, l’animatrice de TF1, âgée de 37 ans, a rapidement pénétré dans l’édifice, dont l’allée avait été décorée de pivoines roses et blanches. Après une cérémonie célébrée par le père Michel Klakus, elle en est ressortie tout sourire au bras de son mari, en smoking noeud papillon noir. Le footballeur de 32 ans, fils de l’entraîneur Christian Gourcuff (évidemment à ses côtés), pouvait compter en ce jour si spécial sur la présence de plusieurs camarades des rectangles verts, à l’image du gardien de but Benoît Costil et de l’attaquant Jimmy Briand, d’Etienne Didot, de Jérémy Toulalan, qu’on pouvait apercevoir lors du vin d’honneur offert sur la place de l’église, dont l’accès avait été condamné au moyen de barrières. Sur son site Internet comme en une de son édition du jour, Var Matin dévoile quelques images de ces moments de joie.

Toute la noce s’est ensuite déplacée vers le domaine des Grottes, une somptueuse propriété au milieu des vignes et des oliviers à 5 minutes de voiture de là, pour faire la fête. Au lendemain de cette réception dans la plus stricte intimité, le couple avait prévu, selon les informations de Voici, une journée de détente avec dresscode blanc et “une immense pool party“.

En couple depuis 2011 avec Yoann Gourcuff, Karine Ferri, dont les admirateurs gardent en mémoire la tragique histoire d’amour passée avec le regretté Grégory Lemarchal, doit aujourd’hui être une femme comblée. Bien que discrète quant à sa vie sentimentale, l’animatrice de Danse avec les Stars et amie de Nikos Aliagas – qui n’était semble-t-il pas présent à la noce – ne faisait pas de mystère de ce que représentait pour elle l’institution du mariage : “Je trouve cela très beau d’unir sa vie à la personne que l’on aime. Même si aujourd’hui, les coutumes se perdent un peu, je reste pour ma part assez traditionnelle. Avec les baptêmes, les mariages sont les plus jolies fêtes d’une vie“, confiait-elle ainsi à Télé 7 Jours en juillet 2018.

Déjà dix ans que Kev Adams fait rire ses fans. Pour l’occasion, il revient avec un nouveau spectacle, Sois 10 ans, dans lequel il retrace son parcours. C’est pour en faire la promotion que l’humoriste de 27 ans s’est livré au site belge 7 sur 7.

Kev Adams promet un spectacle plus mature que les précédents, lui qui sort enfin un projet solo après quatre ans de collaborations. “Comme j’ai changé, je propose des choses différentes. La scène, c’est quelque chose de très intime. On se livre aux gens. Et, c’est vrai, j’aborde des sujets plus personnels que je n’avais pas envie d’aborder à l’époque. (…) Pour la première fois, je parle d’histoires de couple. Ce n’est pas que je ne voulais pas en parler avant, mais je ne connaissais pas assez le sujet, tout simplement“, explique l’ancien complice d’Iris Mittenaere.

À déjà 27 ans, Kev Adams prend conscience d’un nouveau désir : celui de fonder une famille. Questionné sur sa vision de son avenir dans dix ans, il répond du tac au tac : “À la même place. En train de faire des spectacles, des films. J’espère que ma situation maritale sera un peu plus stable. (…) J’aimerais bien être papa, je crois. J’aurais presque 40 ans dans dix ans… Je n’ai pas envie d’avoir des enfants trop tard“, reconnaît l’acteur d’Alad’2.

D’ici à dix ans, Kev Adams sera peut-être père et connu à l’étranger. “J’ai hyper envie de m’exporter, mais pas pour faire n’importe quoi non plus ! J’ai envie de travailler ailleurs qu’en France, mais pas uniquement aux États-Unis. (…) Ça ne me déplairait pas d’être connu partout dans le monde“, poursuit le grand ami de Gad Elmaleh. Et cette notoriété mondiale pourrait bien arriver plus vite qu’on ne le pense : “Je reprendrai les tournages en septembre. Je ferai un truc pour le Québec, pour l’Inde et peut-être pour les États-Unis. C’est toujours en discussion…“

During his traditional pay-per-view preview appearance on AEW Unrestricted, president and head booker Tony Khan said the Women’s Casino Battle Royale will return at this September’s All Out.

He dropped the news while discussing the men’s version that is part of this Sunday’s Double or Nothing.

The first and only women’s version was held at 2019’s All Out and was part of the pre-show. Nyla Rose won the 21-woman match, eliminating Britt Baker to advance to the inaugural Women’s Championship match against Riho on the first-ever Dynamite.

In talking about the future and with the new one-hour Rampage show debuting in August, Khan said a “huge expansion” is imminent for AEW which includes expanding the roster. He also put over AEW Games becoming bigger as well.

Vendredi 14 juin 2019, TF1 diffusait un nouvel épisode de Koh-Lanta 2019. Mohamed, Brice et les autres résidents du jury final ont découvert que c’est Maxime qui avait été éliminé de l’aventure. S’il excellait lors des épreuves depuis la réunification, il n’a pas réussi à remporter la dernière épreuve d’immunité et a donc été remercié par ses camarades, à l’unanimité.

En arrivant à la résidence du jury final, Maxime a été chaleureusement accueilli. Pourtant, il y a un ancien aventurier qui avait toujours une dent contre lui : Frédéric. Pour rappel, avant d’aller aux ambassadeurs face à Béatrice et Alexandre, l’agent de voyage de 32 ans avait promis à son équipe qu’il ne sacrifierait personne. Il a pourtant accepté d’éliminer Fred, un coup de massue pour le principal intéressé et certains de ses camarades.

“Pas surpris de voir Max parce qu’il a brillé sur les épreuves, mais s’est mis en avant trop rapidement. Il a dessiné une cible sur son front, donc c’est de sa faute. (…) Donc je ne suis pas d’accord pour dire qu’il est le plus méritant. Le plus méritant, c’est celui qui veut gagner Koh-Lanta”, a confié Frédéric. Il a ensuite annoncé avoir préparé une petite chanson pour son rival.

“Adieu Maxime, tu vas partir, c’est dur de partir au printemps, je sais. Mais rentre en France la paix dans l’âme, car vu que tu étais tellement barbant, ce ne sera vraiment pas un drame. Je veux qu’on chante, je veux qu’on rie, je veux qu’on s’amuse comme des cons. Je veux qu’on rie, je veux qu’on chante, quand c’est que tu seras dans l’avion“, a chanté Frédéric. Un moment qui restera dans les annales…

Mercredi 19 juin, Marion Bartoli a fait un grand pas en avant dans sa relation. Une photo attendrissante, suivie d’une autre où le couple semble être au restaurant. Marion Bartoli est sur son 31, dans une tenue qui brille de mille feux.
