NXT Stars Visit Promotions, Sting & Hogan Reuniting, Batista News

The trend of WWE stars appearing on independent wrestling events has continued to grow over the past few days. It was reported yesterday that Alexander Wolfe and Marcel Barthel recently appeared on a wXw show in Germany. It has also been confirmed that Apollo Crews and Oney Lorcan will be making appearances on indy shows in the future as well. PWInsider has now discovered that some NXT stars are visiting their native countries during the holidays. Kairi Sane just appeared at a recent STARDOM event and Kassius Ohno was spotted in the crowd at a recent DDT Pro event in Japan as he celebrated his birthday in the country.

Fans may remember the feud between the nWo and Sting back when WCW was still around. Hulk Hogan and Sting were two of the biggest stars on Nitro during the Monday Night Wars, and it looks like the two are going to be reuniting very soon. AceUniverse.com has reported that Sting and Hogan will be joining the Ace Comic-Con in Arizona together on January 15th. Hogan and Sting will not only be meeting fans during their time together at the convention next month, but it has also been revealed that they are going to be taking photos with fans as well. Fans will have the chance to meet the former rivals together on January 15th in Phoenix, Arizona.
It was recently reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Batista is interested in having one last run in WWE, and it was also mentioned that WWE might be willing to bring Batista back for that final run very soon. While no additional news on Batista’s return to WWE has been revealed as of yet, “The Animal” definitely still has some friends working for the company. Batista recently took part in the Joy of Giving charity event in Tampa hosted by Titus O’Neil. Batista joined Raw stars O’Neil and Cesaro at the event. With Batista reuniting with friends such as Titus O’Neil and Cesaro, one cannot help but wonder if “The Animal” will be joining them in the WWE locker room again very soon.

Curt Hawkins Sees Losing Streak Extended To 150 Matches

WWE Raw’s favorite punching bag Curt Hawkins tweeted out he’s hit historic new lows. Hawkins took yet another L at WWE Live in Hartford as part of a team with Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson against Goldust, Rhyno, Heath Slater, Apollo Crews and Titus O’Neill.
After his loss at WWE Live in Hartford, Hawkins has now lost 150 consecutive matches. Here’s a look at Hawkins’ tweet:

Matches Announced & Confirmed for Next Week’s SmackDown Live

At last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, Ruby Riott loss to Becky Lynch via submission. After the match during a backstage interview, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan challenges Becky Lynch, Naomi and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in six-woman tag-team action and the match has been confirmed for next week’s episode of SmackDown Live.
The United States Title Tournament continued last night on SmackDown Live with Mojo Rawley defeating Zack Ryder in the final first round match. Mojo will now be facing Bobby Roode on a future episode of SmackDown Live. Next week on SmackDown Live we will see Xavier Woods taking on Jinder Mahal with the winner going on to the finals at the Royal Rumble PPV against the winner of Booby Roode and Mojo Rawley.

News on Why The Undertaker Was Backstage At The Royal Rumble

According to PWInsider, some of the names that were backstage at last Sunday night’s Royal Rumble PPV were The Undertaker, WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson, WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff and Paige. The reason that The Undertaker was there was to see his wife Michelle McCool work the Women’s Royal Rumble Match. He did not give any indication to what his WrestleMania 34 plans are. WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson, the creator of the Royal Rumble match, was there to lend his expertise and advise.
WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff was there just to visit and he was said to have come in from nearby Baltimore where he lives. Paige was backstage but she was not used due to her injury. Several NXT Superstars were also backstage for the whole show, but some reportedly left after finding out they weren’t needed.

WWE postpones Tuesday TV tapings due to positive COVID-19 test

WWE has canceled tomorrow’s scheduled Raw and SmackDown tapings due to a developmental wrestler testing positive for COVID-19 who was at the NXT tapings this past Tuesday.

The plan is for all key members of the staff that works the shows as well as all the talent to be tested tomorrow, which would be the first COVID-19 testing the company has done.

Next week’s episodes of Raw (June 22) and SmackDown (June 26) will be taped on Wednesday, as well as 205 Live. NXT will also be taped on Wednesday.

WWE issued the following statement tonight regarding the positive test:

A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE’s training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19. Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms. However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company’s performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately. Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule.

Security guards protect Japanese school pupils harassed over Armani uniforms

Private security guards have been hired to protect pupils attending the Tokyo school which recently unveiled bespoke Armani uniforms after they were harassed in the street by strangers.

Toshitsugu Wada, the principal of Taimei Elementary School in the luxury shopping district Ginza, apologised to parents after pupils wearing the new uniform were reportedly pinched and teased by passers by.

The local government authority which runs the school has now introduced extra police patrols in the area and hired four guards from a private security firm to protect pupils walking to and from school, according to local media reports.

The public school was thrust into the media spotlight last month after it unveiled its eye-wateringly expensive new uniforms custom-designed by the Italian fashion house Armani with a £500-plus price tag.

The move sparked immediate controversy, with concerns raised among parents and the issue also discussed in parliament with Taro Aso, the finance minister, who highlighted that some local families might not be able to afford such a uniform.

However, Mr Wada defended the decision to introduce the uniforms, saying that they were an appropriate reflection of the prestigious location of the school, which is minutes on foot from a string of global fashion house flagships.

This week, a meeting was held at the school to discuss issues surrounding the uniform with parents, organised at the request of both the local authority’s education board and also Armani.

Parents were reportedly informed about the additional security which is being paid for by the local government in order to protect pupils following alleged incidents of harassment.

Despite the controversy – and the 80,000 yen (£548) price tag – all 55 new pupils enrolled to start the school at the beginning of the new academic year next month have ordered the new Armani uniform, according to the Asahi newspaper.

However, 659 people from across Japan reportedly contacted the local government office in relation to the new uniforms, many criticising the decision to introduce such a uniform in a public school or raising safety concerns.

Dolph Ziggler vs Luke Harper opens everything up. Great match as usual. Ziggler get the win with a couple super kicks and a zig zag.

Tyler Breeze vs Finn Balor is next. Breeze gets really good heat from crowd. Nice quick match Balor with the victory.

Sasha Banks. Summer Rae, Cameron vs Natalya, Emma, Naomi putt on a great match. Natalya went crazy when she got the hott tag and whens with the sharp shooter.

Next is a segment with Miz and Mizdow. Great crowd participation and one of the Usos comes out and faces Miz in an entertaining match. The Uso get the victory.

Next is Roman Reigns vs Bray Wyatt. Huge pop for Reigns with a bunch of kids and woman screaming at the top of their lungs for him lol. Great match, Reigns looked pretty comfortable in the ring with Wyatt. Reigns wins with a spear. He spent alot of time after the match enter acting with the crowd.

Curtis Axel and Heath Slater lose to The Matadores.

Wade cuts a promo abt bein the real intercontinental champion and he then faces Dean Ambrose. Ambrose wins by DQ after a low blow.

Calls for Paris sex-doll ‘brothel’ to be closed down over rape fantasy claims

Paris councillors and feminist groups are demanding the closure of a ‘brothel’ where male clients are charged nearly £80 an hour for the use of life-sized sex dolls.

Communist members of the Paris Council have tabled a motion calling for the closure of the ‘brothel’, which opened in the middle-class 14th arrondissement last month. Based in an unremarkable-looking flat, the brothel offers clients three rooms with soft lighting, music and ‘naked’ silicone dolls made in China.

The dolls are spray-cleaned in another room, according to the owner, Joaquin Lousy, 29. He told Le Parisien newspaper that he was astonished by the controversy as the operation, known as ‘Xdolls’, was discreet. Bookings are made online and the exact address is kept secret, he said. “Even the neighbours don’t know about it.”

Client are mainly “men aged between 30 and 50, usually executive types, clean, as well as a few couples who come for a new sexual experience,” he added.

But Nicolas Bonnet Ouladj, the head of the communist group in the council, said: “Xdolls purveys a degrading image of women.” Mr Lousquy countered: “I’m not the right person to respond to that. I’m not a sociologist or a philosopher or a psychologist.”

Mr Bonnet Ouladj complained that the business is described on the companies register as a games centre, “as if it had table football and pinball.” He argued that it is more “like a place of prostitution with an owner who can be regarded as a pimp.”

Prostitution was legal in France until 2016, when the National Assembly voted to punish customers of prostitutes by fining them.

Owning or operating a brothel is also illegal. Pierre Laurent, the head of the French Communist Party, said he will table a written question in the Senate on Thursday urging action against sex robots, “some of which can resemble children.”

Lorraine Questiaux of the feminist group Mouvement du Nid (Nest Movement) said: “Xdolls is not a sex shop. It’s a place that makes money from simulating the rape of a woman.” She said it was important to shut it down given that “86,000 women are raped in France every year.”

The controversy has provoked a torrent of comments on social media. Some argued that sex dolls or robots cause no harm and the complaints stemmed from “prudishness” and “over-moralising”.
