Fans were devastated when it was reported earlier in the week that Paige will allegedly not be getting cleared to return to the ring by WWE doctors. No official announcement has been made as of yet, but is has been confirmed by several different outlets that Paige’s in-ring career has been cut short at the age of 25 due to an injury. However, Cageside Seats has reported that Paige will definitely be staying on WWE television in some other role (likely as a manager for Absolution) going forward. There appears to be no talk of her leaving the company a result of the injury. Paige has mostly remained silent on the matter thus far, but she did confirm that she will be attending tonight’s Raw show on her Instagram story.

Several different guest stars and legends from the past have been announced for the upcoming 25th anniversary of Raw show in New York next week. While several top stars are confirmed for the show, two of the biggest stars in Raw history, Hulk Hogan and The Rock, are not currently confirmed for the event. PWInsider has reported that The Rock will try to make an appearance on the show. If he can manage to leave a set and make it to the show, he will be there. Cageside Seats has even reported that he may tape a message beforehand for the show. As for Hogan, that there is still fear over possibly bringing him back.
One of the true standouts of the Mae Young Classic tournament was the “Alpha Female” Jazzy Gabert. She impressed audiences with her unique look and tremendous strength. Gabert recently revealed that she needs to undergo surgery for a neck issue that ultimately cost her a shot at signing with WWE full time. She confirmed that she recently had the surgery to repair three herniated disks in her neck. An update on Jazzy’s health was recently published on her GoFundMe page, and it read, “Jazzy had her neck surgery this morning and it was very successful. She is in great spirits and she is ready to tackle the road to recovery. 2018 is going to be a HUGE year for her on so many different platforms. Roman Reigns posted a tweet congratulating Keith Lee on his NXT Championship win: “Congrats on one hell of a journey @RealKeithLee. Still a ton of work to do, which I know you already know. Keep killin it and representing. I definitely still want that one on one, Champ!” Lee then responded to Reigns: “The Grind is forever boss man. I’ll most certainly look forward to it.”
Lee told Bleacher Report about a moment he shared with Adam Cole after their title match: “It wasn’t on air, obviously, but there was just a moment after all the celebration, the pyro I wasn’t expecting, the confetti and all this crazy stuff and I’m all covered. I look down and I see him still in the corner. That guy is awesome. In that moment, I had to tell him that he gained a new level of respect from me. I shook his hand and that was the first conversation I had.”
In an interview with Screen Rant, Edge discussed the competition between WWE and AEW: “I think competition in anything is always a good thing. I think it forces people to up their game and not rest on their laurels. I think, if I’m looking at it from the performer’s aspect, it’s another place to be able to ply your trade, and that’s amazing. That’s never a bad thing. Just imagine if there was only one studio, if all there was was MGM. I like the fact that there’s a bunch of different studios, and I think the same goes for wrestling. I think it’s changed, definitely. But the point being, I think competition is good.”
Erik spoke about he and Sarah Logan expecting their first child: “It’s something that she and I had talked about almost since we met. We talked about having kids. We had been planning on having kids in a couple years. With Covid and all the crazy changes and all the negative that happened, she was let go from WWE earlier this year. We said, why are we waiting anymore? It worked out. I think the story of our relationship and my life is turning negatives into positives. What might be a problem that should have killed me, you turn it around and make it work for you. You make it better than you could have imagined. I feel that is what we did with her release. She started a YouTube channel that is really doing well right now. We are having a lot of fun with that.”

Dana White claimed that tonight’s UFC 251 PPV is trending higher than a Conor McGregor fight: “This is trending off the charts. This thing is trending higher than a Conor McGregor fight. The only that this fight is comparable to is Conor vs. Khabib. I’ll give you an interesting stat: Our UFC store has sold more merchandise already now than we did in all of 2019. We already beat 2019 with merchandise. This thing is trending as big of a fight as I’ve ever seen in my entire career.”

It was revealed today that Jorge Masvidal and Israel Adesanya are the cover stars for EA Sports’ UFC 4, which will officially be released on PS4 and Xbox One on August 14. Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are the pre-order bonus characters for the game.
White said Gilbert Burns is next in line for the winner of tonight’s Kamaru Usman vs. Masvidal welterweight title fight: “He’s the No. 1 contender. He’s the No. 1 ranked guy in the world. Yeah — he’s the No. 1 guy in the world. The kid is hungry. He wants to fight. He wants to be a world champion — and he’s No. 1. Yeah, that puts him in a pretty good spot.”
Burns gave his prediction for Usman vs. Masvidal: “I see Kamaru dominating, that’s what I see. I think a lot of people get a big expectation in this matchup, but it can only go two ways, or Masvidal can catch him and knock him out inside two rounds. But the way I see the fight going is Kamaru dominating. Even a boring fight, I’d say, Kamaru takes him down and smashes him on the cage. I don’t want that as a fan, but I believe it’s gonna be a boring fight, Kamaru controlling every aspect of the fight.”
Masvidal discussed his weight cut for tonight’s PPV: “Twenty pounds in six days. That’s all I’m gonna say. It was rough. But I did it. I get sh*t done.”
Paige VanZant plans to have one final surgery on her arm after UFC 251: “I think that’s the biggest reason I want to go in and have another surgery to get my plate taken out — every punch I throw hurts. Everything that happens on my arm kind of hurts. I have the plate that runs from my wrist to my elbow. It’s something that’s in the back of my mind. I can still train 100 percent, but I can’t hold pads for anybody. I can’t help my teammates as much as I would like.”
White spoke about the passing of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov: “It’s terrible. We feel horrible for Khabib and how much he loves his father and how close they were. [We’re] just giving him time to mourn and do whatever he needs to do. We’re not bothering him at all right now. We’re just leaving him alone.”
White addressed Mike Perry’s issues, saying he saw them coming and that Perry obviously needs help.
Deiveson Figueiredo and Joseph Benavidez’s vacant flyweight title fight at the UFC’s July 18 Fight Night show is in jeopardy due to Figueiredo testing positive for COVID-19. Figueiredo was set to be tested again today. His manager spoke to ESPN: “Deiveson tested positive two months ago. There is no way he tests positive again. Our position is that is a false positive. We’re waiting the second test to prove that he’s clear and can fly normally to fight.”
Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon Vera is set for UFC 252 on August 15.

India Today recently interviewed WWE Champion AJ Styles on how Jinder Mahal is doing in the WWE as well as other topics. Below are the highlights from the interview:
On Shawn Michaels turning down match with him: “He [Michaels] said no. I’m not doing it. But being in the ring with someone like Shawn Michaels or the Undertaker and being able to learn from those guys will be a blessing. I would love to be in the ring with Shawn Michaels. Similar size, similar styles and to be in the ring with someone like that and all the knowledge he has. It would be a classic.”
On how Jinder Mahal is doing in WWE: “Jinder is doing great. He has everything that he has got here. Looks like a star, acts like a star. That’s why he is one. He is perfect for the WWE, perfect for India.

“He is great and to see him be the star and come along is really cool. This business is really tough and Jinder went through some tough times in this business and now to see him where he is after all the hard work he has put in, he deserves everything and he has earned everything in the WWE.”

Friday’s overnight ratings for the Undertaker tribute edition of WWE SmackDown on Fox were up 4.1% in the overall ratings, averaging 2.174 million viewers, the show’s highest total since April 17th.

The heavy focus on the replay of the WrestleMania boneyard match was a key reason for the number as the first hour averaged 2.271 million viewers where the match took up the majority of the hour. The second hour had a higher than usual drop of almost 9%, averaging 2.076 million.

The demo numbers were mostly the same as they have been for the last month. In 18-34, the show averaged a 0.3 rating for the fourth straight week. That did beat all competition on network TV and unlike with most recent weeks, that competition was mostly original programming. In 18-49, the show did the same 0.5 rating it has done the last four weeks. That tied all three hours of ABC programming for the top mark in the demo on network TV.

In total viewers, SmackDown beat an original episode of Dateline NBC and a repeat of NBC’s The Wall, but trailed all other programming on the major networks.

02/15/18 – The word you don’t want to hear…
I’ve been debating if this is something I should share. I don’t even know if this is the right thing to do.
Not many know but I’ve been struggling with heavy depression for over a year now. I’m on medication and the anxiety, sadness and pain has been so heavy that I also developed IBS. I also gained a lot of weight. For those who are talking “Hey, did you see? LuFisto is fat again”… Well, that is the reason. I might get into this subject on how I got there in the future but not right now…
I’m not writing this piece for this reason.

After my post about my 38th birthday today, many friends and fans reached out because they are wondering what is wrong. A lot of my fans have shown support and I’ve always said that I would’ve quit a long time ago if it wasn’t from them and that remains true, more than ever. Therefore, although I am a very private person, I feel that I need to be totally honest with you all, the people who have supported me for all these years, family and friends.
The main reason why I’ve been feeling like crap is probably because I need to talk about it and I don’t feel right hiding something. So here it is…
I have cervical cancer.

They found the cells last week and I need to get a surgery to remove them… Not the burning thing, a surgery. Although it is not a big procedure for now, I still have to go under the knife and honestly, I’m not too thrilled about it. I know I’ve been distant to family and friends and I feel I haven’t been as productive anywhere because I’m too much in my head.
The cells being very close to the uterus so they also need to take samples to check if the disease did not get in there. Today, I was also told that my insurance was not covering the whole procedure and it is way too overpriced for something that is supposed to be simple. It is probably the Canadian in me that can’t understand why people’s health is treated the same way as if you would buy a used car in the United States… I’m extremely upset and at this point, I don’t even know what will happen.
I’m trying to get answers from the hospital about the costs and options but I keep getting no answers. “We will call you back!” They never do. When they did, they didn’t even have the right information.
Also, if they find bad cells in the uterus, I will need a full hysterectomy to prevent the disease to spread anywhere else. Not that I want to get into the “vagina” too much but, hysterectomy means that they will remove everything on the inside if you don’t know the medical term.
The heart defect/ stoke, the injuries, the betrayals, the hard work that doesn’t pay off, the depressions, the IBS and now this… Some people, close and far, have been through way worse and I don’t want to complain while there are people losing loved one and people getting shot at schools, which is despicable and really kills all the faith I have in the human race. I’m just so tired. And frustrated too.
Anyway, these are the facts and where I’m at now. Apparently, recovery is no longer than 2 weeks so I shouldn’t miss any shows as I’m trying to work things out so the surgery happens on a week I already took off, that is if I can get the surgery if there is a way to lower the costs. Hopefully, I will get some answers soon.
If for some reasons this situation would affect my performances, my availability to you all or my mood and patience, please forgive me.

WWE is dismissing allegations stemming from recent claims made by an ex-WWE star regarding last year’s Crown Jewel event.

Jerry McDevitt on behalf of WWE issued the following statement to Forbes:

After the Court appointed a third law firm to be lead counsel, WWE provided all three law firms with specific detailed facts from the persons with actual knowledge of the situation, including the phony allegation about the plane. The first two law firms then dropped their lawsuits to avoid sanction motions, but the third firm chose to ignore the specific facts they had been provided, and instead cited an unnamed disgruntled former wrestler with no knowledge of the facts. WWE is preparing its response to the lawsuit and will be moving to have it dismissed.

The claims were made in one of several recent lawsuits by WWE shareholders, who argue that WWE has made misleading statements regarding their business dealings with Saudi Arabia.

In one of these lawsuits, a former employee identified as CW-2, who performed for WWE from 2012 to April 2020, was initally told that the flight had been delayed. When he spoke to a stewardess, they were quoted as saying that “it seems someone doesn’t want us to leave the country.”

CW-2 also recalled seeing guards wearing “black militia attire” staring at the wrestlers on board.

He was also told by the Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Vince McMahon had gotten into an argument over payments regarding the last event held in Saudi Arabia, Super Showdown. As a result, McMahaon cut the live feed for the Crown Jewel event, which had made the Crown Prince upset.
