Bryan In Tide Ad (Video), Update on Lesnar & SmackDown, Flair

– In an update on Brock Lesnar’s status for Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings in Portland, Oregon, F4Wonline.com notes that he will not be appearing. Both Lesnar and Paul Heyman are confirmed for tonight’s RAW from Seattle.

– WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was in Santa Clara, California this week for the NFL’s Super Bowl 50 festivities. He tweeted these photos:

Sonya Deville: ‘Thankfully everyone is safe’ after kidnapping attempt

Daria Berenato, better known as Sonya Deville, has released a statement in response to a kidnapping attempt that took place at her house.

Deville tweeted: “Thank you everyone for your love and concern. A very frightening experience but thankfully everyone is safe. A special thank you to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for their response and assistance.”

The Tampa Bay Times reported Sunday that Deville was the victim of a social media stalker who had plotted to kidnap her for eight months. According to the report, the alleged stalker broke into Deville’s Lutz, FL home in the early hours of Sunday morning, triggering a security alarm.

Deville and a guest safely fled the scene and contacted law enforcement. When police arrived at Deville’s home, they found the alleged stalker carrying a knife, zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items.

The alleged stalker was arrested and is being held without bail on charges of aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping and criminal mischief.

Backstage News on Brie Bella Feuding with Charlotte

– As noted, the plan going into last night’s WWE RAW was to do Brie Bella vs. Divas Champion Charlotte at the February 21st WWE Fastlane pay-per-view. Brie defeated Charlotte in a non-title match last night.
The feud between Brie and Charlotte is being done because there’s a feeling of some sympathy towards Nikki Bella, because of her neck surgery and current status, according to PWInsider, and because it makes for a good Total Divas tie-in. Brie vs. Charlotte is scheduled to be a short-term feud and likely will not carry into WrestleMania 32.
No word yet on who Charlotte will defend against at WrestleMania but it appears they are setting up Sasha Banks for that role.

– Big Show turns 44 years old today while WWE Legend Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart turns 61. Also, today would have been the 58th birthday of Hall of Famer Sherri Martel and the 98th birthday of Hall of Famer Freddie Blassie.

– Natalya hit a milestone on Friday night when she wrestled her 800th WWE match at the live event in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She posted this message about family on Instagram:

A picture can say a 1000 words. Reflecting on this week, I got the chance to spend some time with my family in Calgary, Canada. I stayed with James, a family member who has been battling cancer for the last 14 months. His courage to live is beyond inspiring. It breaks my heart to see what cancer has done to him, but he still smiles and continues to fight with everything he has. What James cares most about is helping others even while he’s struggling to stay alive. James has made me appreciate my life in ways he may never know. I also spent some time with @brethitmanhart … Bret’s fighting spirit never waivers. He’s positive and determined to beat cancer like the true champion he is. Following some invaluable family time, this past Friday, I wrestled a live event in the very same arena that my grandfather, Stu Hart, used to run Stampede Wrestling. And YES, I had my 800th match in #WWE at the “Corral” on Friday night. Before I went out through the curtain, I felt my grandfather Stu, Owen, Davey and my cousin Matt…cheering me on from Heaven. – WWE has a new poll asking fans who is their favorite WWE couple – Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan, Lana and Rusev, John Cena and Nikki Bella, Naomi and Jimmy Uso or Natalya and Tyson Kidd. With over 7,000 votes, 43% have voted for Brie and Bryan. Nikki and Cena are next with 24% and The Authority has 20%.

How Did WWE’s Final RAW Episode Before Fastlane Do?

– Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, featuring Big Show vs. Braun Strowman in the main event slot and the final push for Fastlane, drew 3.477 million viewers. This is down from last week’s 3.726 million viewers for Daniel Bryan’s retirement.
For this week’s show, the first hour drew 3.661 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.537 million viewers and the final hour drew 3.233 million viewers.
On cable, RAW was #1 for the night in viewership and #1 for the night in the 18-49 demographic. As noted, The Grammy Awards on network channel CBS drew almost 25 million viewers, and likely helped RAW take the night on cable.

WWE NXT Superstar Reportedly Making His WrestleMania Debut

– WWE NXT Superstar Sami Zayn is scheduled to wrestle at WrestleMania 32, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
This indicates Sami should be appearing on WWE RAW and SmackDown soon, unless they hold him off until after WrestleMania. Sami is also booked for the annual post-WrestleMania tour of Europe.
As noted, Sami will face Shinsuke Nakamura two nights before WrestleMania at the NXT “Takeover: Dallas” event.

Another Drop In Viewers for WWE Total Divas

– Tuesday’s WWE Total Divas episode on the E! network drew 591,000 viewers and ranked #39 for the night on cable.
This is down from last week’s episode, which drew 777,000 viewers and ranked #21 for the night on cable. The week before that drew 808,000 viewers and the week before that drew 810,000.
