WWE Smackdown Preview: KO invites Shane McMahon to “The Kevin Owens Show”

WWE Smackdown Live Preview – August 6, 2019

Kevin Owens invites Shane McMahon to “The Kevin Owens Show”

Kevin Owens is risking his career this Sunday at SummerSlam, where if he does not defeat Shane McMahon, he will quit WWE. It appears KO is going to lay all his cards out on the table just five nights before The Biggest Event of The Summer, as he has invited “The Best in The World” to appear on “The Kevin Owens Show.”

What will happen when these two rivals are under the same roof ahead of SummerSlam?

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston to respond to Randy Orton in exclusive interview

Last week on SmackDown LIVE, Randy Orton declared that WWE Champion Kofi Kingston was “stupid, stupid, stupid” for challenging him to a match at SummerSlam, before declaring he’d be taking the title this Sunday.

Tomorrow night, the WWE Champion will respond to The Viper in an exclusive interview. What will Kingston have to say just five nights before this huge showdown?

Who tried to run down Roman Reigns?

Nearly a week after barely avoiding disaster when a forklift mishap resulted in him almost being crushed by steal beams and scaffolding on SmackDown LIVE, Roman Reigns apparently learned that it’s looking less likely that his recent misfortunes are accidental.

Samoa Joe, furious that he was accused of orchestrating the attack on Reigns, sought out The Big Dog in the arena parking lot. The Samoan Shark seemingly had his name cleared in shocking fashion, as a speeding car rocketed past Joe and collided with Reigns’ ride as he was exiting. The Big Dog was shaken up, but WWE.com learned that he narrowly avoided permanent injury and has been released to appear for SmackDown LIVE.

Though Reigns may be fine, the shocking incident has left the WWE Universe asking who would attack The Big Dog and why. Will we discover any more information on SmackDown LIVE?

Will Aleister Black respond to Sami Zayn’s challenge?

Aleister Black dared another Superstar to pick a fight with him last week. Sami Zayn answered the call, promising to ruin The Dutch Destroyer’s mystique at SummerSlam. Will Black have any response to The Critic of The Critics?

Is Charlotte Flair ready for Trish Stratus?

Charlotte Flair demanded a spot on the SummerSlam card, then went out and forced her way onto the show, challenging WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus to a battle at The Biggest Event of The Summer.

With Stratus accepting the challenge, how will these two Superstars prepare for a showdown between generations? Find out on SmackDown LIVE, tonight at 8/7 C on USA Network!

Free-wheeling Trump returns at Florida rally

Trump kicked off his Tampa, Fla., campaign rally by complaining about the foul language used by rapper Jay-Z during a concert for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary ClintonHillary Diane Rodham ClintonWhite House accuses Biden of pushing ‘conspiracy theories’ with Trump election claim Biden courts younger voters — who have been a weakness Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton qualifies to run for county commissioner in Florida MORE’s campaign.

“He used language last night that was so bad, and then Hillary said, ‘I did not like Donald Trump’s lewd language,’ ” Trump, the Republican nominee, said.

“My lewd language. I’ll tell you what, I’ve never said what he said in my life.”

Trump’s campaign was rocked last month when a 2005 video was unearthed that showed the business mogul admitting to having “tried to f—” a married woman and boasting that his celebrity allows him to grab women “by the p—-.”

Throughout the rally, Trump repeatedly ignored his teleprompter and went off script.

He said the Justice Department is trying to protect its “angel, Hillary Clinton,” by suppressing the FBI’s investigation into the private email server she used as secretary of State.

He noted the progress he’s made in closing Clinton’s lead in recent polls, but added, “I really only acknowledge them if I’m winning.”

The real estate mogul said polls show him challenging Clinton in states that a Republican wouldn’t normally win and added that he would head to states like Colorado and Minnesota.

His campaign’s schedule currently lists no events in Minnesota, but CNN reported after the rally that both Trump and GOP vice presidential nominee Mike PenceMichael (Mike) Richard PencePence posts, deletes photo of Trump campaign staff without face masks, not social distancing Pence threatens to deploy military if Pennsylvania governor doesn’t quell looting Pence on Floyd: ‘No tolerance for racism’ in US MORE will be stumping in the state ahead of Election Day. Trump will hold a rally in Denver on Saturday night.

Catering to his Florida audience, Trump promised to stop sending money to the United Nations aimed at fighting climate change and to instead use the funds to solve the state’s environmental problems.

“We will also cancel billions in global warming payments to the United Nations and use that money to invest in America,” he said.

“That includes repairing so many of Florida’s problems,” including the Herbert Hoover Dike, the Florida Aquifer and the Everglades.

“We don’t need to give hundreds of billions of dollars away. We have no idea who’s getting this money,” Trump added. “Giving it to the United Nations, you know what that’s called? Giving it to an open pit.”

Trump also cited signs held up by supporters as evidence of his popularity among minorities. He held up one sign that read “Cuban Women for Trump.”

“Oh I love those signs, ‘Blacks for Trump,’ ” he said, referencing another sign held high by an audience member.

On the flip side of that sign was a message that read “Hillary will start World War 3” and included a URL that led to a bizarre website claiming that Clinton wants to kill every black woman in America.

At one point in the rally, Trump held up a baby on stage, kissing the child and praising its parents.

“They did a great job,” he said.

As Trump approached the end of the speech, the crowd broke out in a “We want Trump” chant, and the billionaire businessman thanked his audience.

As is tradition when Trump wraps up his rallies, the Rolling Stones song “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” played over the Florida State Fairgrounds’s speakers after he left.

FOX & WWE to Promote NXT Heavily in Battle Against AEW on TNT

— Even though it has yet to be announced, WWE moving NXT to FS1 is expected to begin in October and air in the 8-10 PM ET time slot on Wednesdays, running directly head-to-head with AEW on TNT. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE and FOX pretty much agreed to this back in the late June or early July timeframe but have waited to announce anything pending the AEW on TNT news.

— Right now, the idea is to run the two-hour show live as opposed to being taped while cycling in main roster talent on as needed basis. It’s unclear though if the show will continue to be taped at Full Sail University or whether they will move from city to city. FOX is expected to heavily promote the NXT on FS1 show on Smackdown and WWE may advertise it on Raw as well due to the big stakes at play in the battle against AEW.
