Genichiro Tenryu, one of the greatest wrestlers of the past 50 years and a multiple time Japan MVP, has been hospitalized since Friday with congestive heart failure. Tenryu is 71. Tenryu was supposed to do a talk show with Kenta Kobashi on Sunday but that’s been postponed.
WWE Fast Lane did 100,000 searches yesterday on Google for No. 15. That may be the lowest in history for a WWE PPV show other than Saudi shows that also did about the same. We’re looking for your thoughts on Fast Lane, as well as the semifinals and finals of the New Japan Cup from Sendai. Edward George Farhat Jr., he son of The Sheik, passed away this morning from COVID-19 at the age of 71. We have a full article on him in this coming week’s issue. He wrestled as Capt. Ed George from 1978-80 and promoted wrestling for most of the past 30 years in Michigan.
Today is the fourth anniversary of the death of Jan Ross, the wife of Jim Ross. She was really a special person.
People are talking about this match from yesterday’s RIOT Lucha Libre show in Monterrey as between Arez vs. El Hijo del Vikingo as the best match of the year in Mexico. It’s the main event on this show. The link is free but there is a donation page and they ask that you donate to the wrestlers who appear on this show who have been mostly out of work for a year. Mick Foley believes that Lex Luger should be in the WWE Hall of Fame. He’s in the past pushed for Vader as well, which didn’t happen before Vader’s death.

There will be virtual Meet & Greets for WrestleMania from 4/5 to 4/12. Tickets are $125 and include a two-minute private one-on-one with the performer with a downloadable video of the mee4t and greet the next day.
WWE is doing a 50 Greatest Women’s Countdown on the WWE Network. They are starting at 50 and now at 36. There is nobody on the list so far that goes further back than people like Kelly, Kelly, Maryse and Eve Torres.
