Speaking in an interview with RMC Sport, Lyon Sporting Director Juninho was asked to discuss interest from PSG and Manchester City in Houssem Aouar.

“I think that has been happening directly with agents. We were not directly contascted. Maybe Vincent Ponsot (Director General) was contacted by Manchester City, I am not sure. It is like that with these two teams, two enormous teams who play to win the Champions’ League every year, they have the capacity for that and that makes any player dream. I don’t know if Houssem is ready to change project for a big Ligue 1 team like PSG. For City, of course Guardiola likes the player, but is that the profile that they are looking for today? We don’t know that either and we have not received any official offers.”

Juninho also discussed brief talks with Arsenal for the player.

20 Minutes report that Ligue 1 side Nantes continue to scour the striker market for a transfer window signing and that manager Christian Gourcuff’s focus is now on a possible deal with Istanbul Basaksehir for 28-year-old Norwegian international forward Fredrik Gulbrandsen.

Les Canaris sources have confirmed that the manager is very keen to land the forward who is under contract with the Turkish 1st division side until June 2022. Last season, he made just 9 starts but scored 3 goals and came up with an assist for good measure. He also played a handful of Europa League matches.

Antonio Colak was a player that FCN had talks with last week, and things are not dead yet on that front either. 

Brazilian striker Lincoln (Flamengo) was also a target, but talks are believed to have completely faded from relevancy.

Le Progrès report today that there is continuing radio silence from Europe’s elite when it comes to contacts or offers for any of Memphis Depay, Houssem Aouar or Moussa Dembélé.

For Depay, no concrete bid from Barcelona or AC Milan, and nothing serious from England for the other two. 

Despite the interest from Ronald Koeman in Depay and from Mikel Arteta for Aouar, neither Arsenal nor Barcelona seem in a rush to accelerate things, to get to the stage of actually negotiating a transfer. The longer they wait, the less money they are likely to offer, which everyone has understood, and that is obviously another source of concern for Lyon, who could end up being caught off guard.

Hertha Berlin are turning up the heat in their pursuit of French youth international attacking midfielder Jeff Reine-Adélaïde, according to RMC Sport.

OL are continuing to hold out for €30m in order to sell the former Angers and Arsenal man, but Ouest-France claim that Rennes, who are also pursuing the 22-year-old, think they can do a deal for €25m instead and that an agreement will be struck, it is just a matter of time.

This is contradicted by RMC who insist that OL have rejected a bid from the Brittany club at the price, as well as an identical one from the German outfit.

Lyon bought the player for €25m plus €2.5m in bonuses from Le SCO last summer and refuse to make a loss on him. JRA’s priority is Rennes owing to their ability to offer Champions’ League football. Hertha are trying to make up ground by offering the player a large salary and selling him a project where he would be a key man in their eventual fight for the Bundesliga title in the coming years.

RMC Sport report that German tactician Thomas Tuchel is pushing hard to sign Chelsea central defender Antonio Rüdiger before Monday’s deadline.

The London club still want a sale rather than a loan with option to buy, and the latter formula is the only deal that Les Parisiens can afford to do during this window.

Tuchel has spoken with Rüdiger on the phone on several occasions to entice the player to come – Lampard and Rüdiger have also mutually agreed that a departure is best for the 27-year-old.

Speaking in a press conference on Saturday, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has the following to say when asked about interest in Lyon attacking midfielder Houssem Aouar.

“I do not know what information you have. I have no doubts about this player, he is a great player. Maybe one day he could play for Madrid, but today we have this team and I am focused on the players that I have right now. From 5th October, these sorts of questions will no longer be asked.”
