Going up against game one of the NBA finals as well as multiple MLB playoff games, last night’s Dynamite increased 3.7 percent in overall viewership, averaging 866,000 viewers on TNT. NXT on the USA Network was up 5.2 percent in total viewers, averaging 732,000 for last night’s TakeOver 31 go-home show.

The combined wrestling audience of 1.598 million viewers was the highest on a night when both shows aired on Wednesday since August 4.

In the 18-49 demo, AEW was up 3.1 percent, averaging a 0.33 rating. It ranked 12th on cable in that category, much lower than usual due to the MLB playoff games. The NBA finals game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat aired on network TV and drew a 2.9 rating in the demo.

NXT finished 50th in the demo with a 0.19 rating, up 5.6 percent from last week. News programming was also up with the cable networks devoting a lot of time to covering the previous night’s presidential debate. South Park’s one-hour “Pandemic Special” topped the night in the cable 18-49 rankings.

The individual demos were the same as always with AEW winning in every category except people over 50, where NXT had a slim advantage of 0.37 to 0.34. The other categories were as follows:
