UFC Star Says CM Punk Is Still Training & "Getting Ready To Fight" (Video)

Following his impressive knockout victory over Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in his Welterweight (170-pound) debut in the main event of Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 148: Thompson vs. Pettis show on ESPN+, the former UFC and WEC Lightweight Champion spoke with TMZ Sports for an interview.

During the discussion with the popular celebrity gossip website, former WWE Superstar and 0-2 UFC fighter Phil “CM Punk” Brooks came up.

When asked whether or not CM Punk is still training at Roufusport Gym in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Pettis replied, “He is still there. He’s doing more of the Jiu-Jitsu and the rolling and spending time getting ready to fight.”

Pettis continued, “They made him come over with no experience and fight on the biggest stage. I don’t know anybody that could do that. Not even some young kids.”

The first MMA fighter to appear on the cover of a Wheaties box would go on to give props to “The Best in the World” for his persistence.

“He comes in day after day and gets his butt kicked,” said Pettis of Punk. “He just keeps coming back and showing up.”
