– In addition to the above video WWE released on Monday afternoon, SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon posted the following on social media regarding his blue brand crowning “three new champions to lead the ‘new era'” at their first brand-exclusive pay-per-view, WWE Backlash, in Richmond, Virginia on Sunday night.
As noted, AJ Styles defeated Dean Ambrose to capture the WWE Championship, while Becky Lynch won the Six-Pack Challenge to win the new SmackDown Women’s Championship and the team of Heath Slater & Rhyno won in the finals of the SmackDown Tag-Team Title Tournament to become the first-ever SmackDown Tag-Team Champions.
#WWEBacklash was a major step for #SDLive. 3 new champions to lead the new era. Thank you all for the continued support. #JustGettingStarted

– Cesaro took to Twitter on Monday afternoon to point out that today marks the 12-year anniversary of the day he first moved to the United States. As Cesaro noted, however, he can’t exactly celebrate and take it easy, as he faces Sheamus in match five of their “Best Of 7 Series” on WWE RAW tonight in Baltimore, Maryland.
12 years ago I moved to the US. No time or reason to celebrate, #BestOf7 match 5 is tonight in Baltimore. Nothing happens "overnight" #raw
