More on WWE Going to Two PPVs per Month

— Jerry Lawler was recently at an appearance in Metropolis, IL and allegedly confirmed that WWE would be increasing its PPV shows to 20 per year.

— As per previous reports, the rumor is that starting in September, WWE will be holding two PPVs each month (one for Raw and one for Smackdown), except for in four specific months where both rosters would come together for one big main PPV. Three of the main PPVs would undoubtedly be WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble but it’s not certain what the fourth PPV would be. Traditionally, Survivor Series has been one of the big four, but in recent years has been surpassed by both Elimination Chamber and Money in the Bank.

— While no WWE sources have commented on this possibility, Lawler – being a Smackdown announcer – would likely be among the first to know about any of these plans.

— If the PPV increase does indeed happen, there is speculation it could be a precursor to WWE also increasing how much it charges monthly for the WWE Network.
