RAW Report 9/20/10 Indianapolis, Indiana

RAW this week starts with music and pyro (Jericho was still in the opening).

Justin announces the new WWE Champion, Randy Orton. He comes out all pumped up, strap held high, then down to the ring with a smile on his face that faded to his signature smirk at the bottom of the ramp. In the ring he raised the belt for pop, then posed on a corner for even more pop.

Sheamus out screaming about not letting this happen. Orton doesn’t deserve this moment. He’s been Champion twice and had it stolen from him. First in an Elimination Chamber, then last night in the 6 Pack Challenge. But Orton’s never beaten him for the Title. If he thinks Sheamus’ going to stand back after last night, he’s not. It’s pathetic.

Orton said that Sheamus won in a Fatal Four Way that Nexus interfered in and Sheamus got out of their last match by DQ and Sheamus has never beaten him. So the only thing pathetic is Sheamus. He is entitled to a rematch. Orton suggests he gets it soon because if he stays in the ring, he’ll get a punt to the head.

Sheamus asked if Orton thinks he’s scared by all his faces he makes, the crazed look in his eyes when he thinks he’s a snake or throws a temper tantrum. Fella, I’ll kick your head off! Orton dares him to try.

Ding-Ding! Cole gets a bit of heat. “Randy Orton and Sheamus, you will have your one on one championship match and when it’s over there will be no question who is Champion. That’s because your match will have no disqualifications, no count outs, no escape, no excuses. In just under two weeks Sheamus, you will face Randy Orton inside Hell In A Cell!”

Sheamus says that’s magic. He’s never been in HIAC, but he ended HHH’s career, so the chances of Orton winning are slim. Sheamus then demands Orton give him his gold. Sheamus told him to not play dumb and give him the championship. He didn’t beat him one on one. If he thinks he can get it honorably, then he’ll get it back. Orton says he’s not an honorable man. He’s hospitalized many people, some deserved it, some didn’t. Some just got in his way. He’d RKO his own grandmother to keep this belt, then RKO Sheamus’ grandmother to see the look on her face. He’s the WWE Champion which means he’s the only man who carries the championship. Now if he really wants to do something about it. Really wants it that bad. You know what, go ahead and take it – Orton threw the strap into Sheamus’ hand, then nailed him with an RKO. Sheamus was left face down on the mat. Sheamus posed, then left the ring. He stopped on the bottom of the ramp, then went back in. Orton visibly thought it through, then backed up to punt Sheamus. Sheamus rolled out of the ring at the last moment, avoiding the punt.

Cena says to name it, whatever Wade wants. Name it! Wade says he has just the ticket. Cena likes to claim he’ll do anything for the WWE Universe, will put it all on the line. Why doesn’t Cena put himself on the line? They’ve been there before, Wade’s tried to recruit him in the past, but Cena threw it back in his face. Cena’s putting his lifeblood on the line and Wade’s just showing up? Nuh uh! So, here’s what happens if Cena wins. If Cena wins, Nexus is done! Wait, he doesn’t mean the Nexus has been weakened, the Nexus foundation has been shaken. No, no, no, he means Tarver goes back to Macy’s and sells women’s fragrances. Not as the leader of Nexus, but winner of NXT Season 1. The man with the golden opportunity, the world in his hand, who flushed it down the toilet.

He wants to do this? Put something on the line. Wade wins, Cena joins Nexus. If Cena wins, Nexus is done. Too much for him? Did the WWE Universe just call his bluff? What’s it going to be, oh great leader? What’s it going to be? Wade says Cena’s on.
