TMZ cameras caught up with several WWE Superstars including Sheamus, The Miz, Big Show and “The Viper” Randy Orton as they were taking off from the Washington D.C. airport this morning, on their way to Saudi Arabia for this Friday’s controversial WWE Crown Jewel pay-per-view event.
Here’s what they had to say:
SHEAMUS:
“I’m excited to run a great show for the people of Saudi Arabia. They want to be entertained, so that’s what we do. We’re entertainers. That’s what we’re going to do. World Wrestling Entertainment. I know it’s a cliche but we put smiles on people’s faces all over the world. And then we’re going to go do the same thing in the UK.”
THE MIZ:
“I would love to have my wife with me, all day, every day – at all times. I miss my daughter every time I leave her. Today she sat up! It’s Halloween, and I wanted to celebrate, but I have a job and I love my job. I love entertaining audiences all over the world. It’s incredible. Not many people get to do it, and I have the opportunity to do it everywhere I go. It’s always a lot of fun being a WWE Superstar and traveling everywhere.”
TMZ also caught up with “The Viper” Randy Orton who was characteristically brief in his responses, only stating that he expected a “long flight” with “shitty food”. When asked about John Cena pulling out of the event, the WWE veteran joked that he wasn’t aware his old rival was still wrestling.
