Ace Austin won a four-way match involving Sami Callihan, Moose and Chris Sabin at Friday’s Impact Emergence, putting himself next in line for a World title shot against Christian Cage at Victory Road in September.

The end came when Moose hit two uranages on Austin to set up the Lights Out. However, Callihan hit Moose with a chair, leaving him open for Austin to recover and get the roll-up for the pin while Cage successfully defended the Impact title in his first defense with a win over Brian Myers in the Emergence main event.
The Cage vs. Austin match will take place on the September 18th Impact Plus special, a show that was mainly taped this past week. The Cage-Austin match didn’t happen at those tapings, but will at the company’s mid-September TV tapings.
Regarded as one of the company’s top talents, Austin is a two-time X-Division Champion and Super X Cup winner. He has competed for the World title before, losing in a five-way elimination match at last year’s Slammiversary.
