– The show opens with a video package hyping the credibility of both Eli Drake and Moose as potential challengers for the Impact World Championship at Slammiversary.

GRADO (w/ Katarina Lee) vs. ???

Before any kind of match could take place, Eddie Edwards ran out to the ring and smacked Grado with a kendo stick, over and over again until he retreated up the ramp. He even got in Katarina’s face and threatened her if she didn’t leave as well. Eddie started screaming about having Sami Callihan seconds away from death last week during their unsanctioned fight in the woods, but that “fat ass” Tommy Dreamer stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and ruined what should have been his moment.

The Hardcore Legend came out and claimed that he stopped his friend from making the single biggest mistake of his life. He said that Eddie has already beaten Sami Callihan and that’s it over, but Edwards freaks out and said that he wanted to murder him, not beat him in a wrestling match. Dreamer said he knows what it’s like to see all his friends at 50 not being able to walk around with any quality of life because of the brain damage they’ve sustained, and he doesn’t want to see another friend go down that road.

Eddie called B.S. on the ECW icon and said that he wouldn’t change a damn thing about his career if he had the choice to go back and do it all again. The two came forehead-to-forehead as the former American Wolf started screaming about not having talked to his wife in a week, accusing Dreamer of getting a little too close to Alisha over the last few months. This all ends with Edwards popping his former friend in the face with a kendo stick and walking off.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT

A furious Tommy Dreamer found Scott D’Amore backstage and told him that he’s not a contracted talent, he’s a backstage agent, and it’s bulls— that he had to go out to the ring and take a kendo stick shot to the head because Impact can’t keep their man in check. Scott said they’ll get it figured out and that he’d personally talk to Eddie Edwards after they finished the show, but Dreamer walked off telling him to shove it.

REBEL vs. TAYA VALKYRIE

The returning Knockout went right after it with a flurry of right hands in the corner before firing off with a series of dropkicks and a running knee strike. She dropped a leg on her opponent’s neck for a two-count, by literally doing the splits, but spent a bit too much time playing to the crowd and turned around into a monstrous spear. Taya hit the Road to Valhalla and that’s all she wrote.

Winner: Taya Valkyrie
