Notes on Natalya, Tye Dillinger, and MVP

– Natalya is a huge fan of Naomi and wants to see her get another lengthy WWE title run. Natalya spoke with ESPN 1530’s No Holds Barred show (per Fightful) and said she thinks Naomi is underrated and deserves another push.
“One of the most underrated performers that we have, somebody’s that is so talented that I just… I would love to see her get a really great shot, and have an incredible title run is Naomi,” Natalya said. “I watch her, and she’s just so gifted. She can do things that no other girls can do. Last year she did a springboard off the ropes onto a ladder like it was nothing. Even when she had the title, and I beat her at SummerSlam in 2017 for title… prior to me beating her, she didn’t have a really memorable title run. Not that wrestling Lana is bad by any means, but I only remember her wrestling Lana. She had like a serious of matches with Lana, and then she and I wrestled at Summerslam.”
– Shawn Spears – formerly known as Tye Dillinger in WWE – is set to face Colt Cabana on July 19th at RCW Is The Perfect 10. He tweeted about the event, which you can see below:

WWE Reportedly Lifts Ban on Using Term ‘Belts’ for Championship Titles

As previously reported, it’s long been noted that Vince McMahon hates the idea of World Wrestling Entertainment Championship titles being referred to as “belts.” As a result, referring to titles as “belts” in WWE has apparently been among the promotion’s forbidden terms in recent years, including the words “wrestling” and “wrestlers,” even though the letters W-W-E stands for “World Wrestling Entertainment.” It appears that stance has now changed in the company, at least regarding to using the term “belts.” During today’s edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio, it was noted the ban in WWE on the word “belts” was lifted, since Becky Lynch is now calling herself “Becky 2 Belts.”
Additionally, WWE is also using the term for Becky Lynch for promotion and advertising purposes. According to Dave Meltzer, McMahon apparently changed his mind about the term, but he added that McMahon could easily change his mind again.
It was reported last March that city officials were sent a list of “do’s and don’ts” for the WrestleMania 36 announcement press conference. The list included that officials should not call the WWE Championship or titles with the words “belt” or straps. It was also stated that officials should refer to the wrestlers as WWE Superstars and not “professional wrestlers.”Click Here: newcastle knights jersey

MLW Sign Marshall & Ross Von Erich

MLW announced the signing of Marshall & Ross Von Erich. The full press release can be found below.
NEW YORK — Ross and Marshall Von Erich have joined Major League Wrestling, signing a multi-year deal with the promotion this week. The sons of Kevin Von Erich have emerged as accomplished wrestlers, competing around the world including for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, Israel, Australia, the United Kingdom as well as in their home state of Texas.
League officials can confirm that the 3rd generation grapplers will make their MLW debut June 1st in Milwaukee at FURY ROAD. (buy tickets)
Earlier today, Sports Illustrated broke the news with a report, featuring exclusive comments from the Von Erichs and MLW CEO Court Bauer. (read article)
“Ross and Marshall are not only world-class athletes but world-class people,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “I look forward to seeing their journey as they write a new chapter and usher in the future for their family and for pro wrestling fans around the world.”
About Ross and Marshall Von Erich:
Born in Denton County, Texas and now fighting out of Kauai, Hawaii, Ross and Marshall Von Erich are premier professional wrestlers. Dangerous competitors both in singles competition as well as a franchise tag team unit, the brothers have aspirations of both singles and tag team gold.
The massive 6’4” 250-pound Marshall Von Erich loves three things: surfing, fishing and fighting. Without a doubt, the younger and physically bigger brother is a certified Hawaiian hoss. Combining explosive power with speed and agility, very few if any can match the charismatic grappler’s fusion of styles, especially at his size.
A strategist inside the ring, Ross wastes no movement, systematically focusing on his opponents’ weaknesses until they are too tired to endure his blitzing offense. Featuring fast and furious brawling, cutting-edge grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsui mat work, his arsenal also includes uncanny aerial attacks.
Proud and serious, Ross Von Erich mixes technical wrestling, brawling, MMA and aerial attacks to make for a customized hybrid wrestling style.
Grappling and learning new techniques on the beaches of Kauai from their father, Kevin Von Erich, these Texas born bad asses are a force to reckon with.
Preferring to fight barefoot, like his father, Marshall is a 3rdgeneration grappler. Similar to his father, Marshall also possesses one of the best dropkicks in the sport, attaining a vertical leap that would put most athletes to shame. Shocking fans and devastating opponents with his signature moonsault, Marshall is exceptional in every way.
A top-level wrestler in both singles and tag team competition, Ross and Marshall fight for his family’s name and their future.
When not wrestling, the brothers can be found spending time with his family on their ranch in Hawaii, enjoying surfing, spear fishing and innovating new high flying moves off of waterfalls.
Growing up in Denton County (just outside Dallas), Marshall and Ross would tussle all over the family’s Texas ranch with hopes of one day wrestling in front of large crowds around the world. However, their legendary father, Kevin Von Erich, didn’t want his sons to grow up too fast. So much so he hid the weights in the barn at their Denton County farm and encouraged the boys to enjoy life. Wrestling would come soon enough if it was meant to be.
Both impressive athletes from an early age, the brothers exceed in all sports, Ross in football and Marshall at discus throwing.
In 2007, the entire Von Erich clan moved to Kauai, Hawaii, the state’s northernmost island where the brothers Ross and Marshall would begin their journey to become pro wrestlers.
Training under their father’s watchful eye on his Hawaiian farm, the brothers quickly took to professional wrestling. This would lead Ross and Marshall on a journey around the world to train and learn from some of the sport’s best, including Harley Race.
The brothers’ time training with Race in Missouri was invaluable. The brothers not only learned key fundamentals but world class technical and brawling skills from the hall of famer, which would serve them well in the years to come.
From Race’s camp in Missouri, Ross and Marshall would go on an excursion to Japan where they would live for the better part of two years in the Pro Wrestling NOAH dojo.
Under the tutelage of Naomichi Marufuji, the Von Erichs mastered the art of puroresu(Japanese wrestling). On and off for two years, Ross and Marshall would train and compete in one of Japan’s most competitive and prestigious wrestling circuits both in singles and tag team competition.
Competing around the world, including Israel, England, Australia as well as stateside in their home state of Texas, the rise of the 3rdgeneration of Von Erichs heralded a new era for the family. One of triumph, tranquility and hope. Along the way, they even collected championship gold in Texas and abroad.
In 2019, Ross crossed over into film, appearing in Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Hobbs and Shaw action movie. The brothers were also spotlighted in VICE’s Dark Side of The Ringseries, representing a new hope for a new chapter in the family’s fabled story in the sport.
Believing in the mantra to always look forward, never backward, Ross and Marshall have embraced their destiny: the fight for their family’s name and their future.Click Here: cavan gaa jerseys

Aries: “there was a six-figure contract on the table at the end of last year that I politely declined”

Austin Aries Says He Declined A Six-Figure Offer After Leaving Impact Wrestling, His Reputation & Thoughts on Working with NJPW
Austin Aries did an interview with the Journal Sentinel ahead of tomorrow night’s MLW Fury Road in Milwaukee.
Below are highlights.
On Leaving Impact/Joining MLW:
“Really, since I left Impact Wrestling – some people say controversially – I’ve been really laying low,” he said. “I’ve had contract offers. Even after (Impact) there was a six-figure contract on the table at the end of last year that I politely declined. MLW had contacted me previously about maybe wanting to come in and do some things with them, but it wasn’t the right timing. I just decided for the first half of this year just to reset. I’m also in the mindset that at this point in my career, I don’t really want to work for anybody. But I will work with anybody. Then I actually reached out to MLW and I said to them, ‘Hey guys, I know we talked a few months back and you had expressed some interest. It wasn’t really the right time. I said, ‘You’re going to be in my hometown. That interests me.’ I’m not motivated by money and I never really had been. I’m probably not motivated by a lot things that people think I am.”
On His Reputation:
“I’ve never really come out publicly and buried anybody. I’ve never come out publicly and exposed anyone or anything. I’ve always let things be written about me, true or otherwise, and never really taken the time to address them because you can’t really win that game in the moment. And, to be quite honest, at a certain point you decide to use them to your advantage. Good, bad, indifferent. And most people aren’t indifferent about me, which is good in my business.”
On Working For NJPW:
“At this point in my career, I’ve literally been blessed to do almost everything I’ve wanted to do. Outside of going and maybe having a run in New Japan (Pro Wrestling), which is probably the only major company I haven’t worked for that I want to check off. So I’m putting it on the record right now.”
Jim Cornette was also part of the interview. Here’s what he had to say about Aries:
“He’s a great wrestler. And he’s a great personality for pro wrestling. That comes through in pretty much everything he does. He’s been controversial because he’s the kind of guy that wants to do his own thing. He’s a nightmare to face in the ring, and he’s a nightmare to deal with in the conference room. The level of excellence that he brings in the ring is equal to the obstinance that he brings in contract negotiations. You can call it being his own worst enemy, or you can call it being true to himself with finding his spot on his terms.”

Sting Calls His Feud With Vampiro A ‘Bomb of All Bombs’

During a recent appearance at AwesomeCon, spoke about his feud with Vampiro in WCW in 2000, which he said failed because the two of them just didn’t have any chemistry with each other. Here are highlights:
On his matches with Cactus Jack: “Cactus was a fun guy to work with. He was a great personality outside of the ring as well. Talk about somebody who sacrificed his body – I mean I have stories about him. In Germany, against Vader… I have stories about him in Atlanta with me. Some of the things that he did and hearing the sound of his body and his flesh hitting the pavement from I don’t know how many feet, I mean just ridiculous! I was in Germany by the way when he wrestled Vader and you could see him wrestling and you could see the end of the match. You can see blood coming off the side of Mick’s head. He thought he got busted open somehow and no big deal but the next thing you know a ring announcer comes walking into the dressing room with half of an ear or three-quarters of an ear in his hands. The thing is I have my ears. And I went yep…That’s an ear! It was Cactus Jack’s! I mean he came back in the dressing room and said something like, ‘BANG BANG’ and that was it. I think he wanted to have that thing preserved somehow in some kind of liquid. They didn’t want to let him do it. A lot of fun working with Cactus. I loved his creativity. His willingness to just try stuff and do something different, step out of the box.”
On his feud with Vampiro: “I just couldn’t make that thing clear. I just could not figure out a way, and I was giving him permission to step over the line and do things that I wouldn’t allow anyone else to do over the years. I told him I to call me by my real name… see if that’ll get through. See if it’ll create something. Nothing. There was no chemistry there whatsoever, I mean nothing. It was just a bomb. A bomb of all bombs.”
On working with Abyss: “I loved working with Abyss. I mean the casket match and some other stuff – I still see him three or four times a year. I just saw him at Wrestlemania [35]. He’s working with [WWE] now and doing a good job for them. I loved those matches with him and every time he sees me he says: ‘Sting, the best matches I ever had were against you.’ Wow, That’s a big compliment!”Click Here: Kids football kit sets

Tony Khan Says AEW Will NOT Have an Offseason

In a great article on Bleacher Report about AEW, Tony Khan talked about his role in AEW, as well as TV and touring schedules for the promotion. He noted that he doesn’t want AEW TV on Monday or Friday nights, doesn’t want it to go head-to-head with NFL games, that he won’t pay for TV time, confirms there won’t be an offseason, and that he’s committed to a lighter schedule for wrestlers.
Tony Khan on his AEW role: “I’m not taking a hands-off approach. We work together really closely, but I’m day to day managing the business. This is a very collaborative process. I talk to Cody and Kenny Omega and Matt and Nick every day, and we group chat and share ideas. When one of us has an idea, another can take it and run with it. The five of us have a great working relationship, and when you add in Brandi and Dana and Chris Jericho and [Ring of Honor veteran] Christopher Daniels, we’re all in constant communication. I’m very active with it.”
Tony Khan on AEW TV and touring schedule: “I’m not gonna go on Monday night or Friday night, and I would never go head-to-head with the NFL or pay for time on television.”
“I’m not planning on doing hundreds of non-televised events on tour, because I don’t think that would represent a large enough revenue stream for us and profitable enough business sector for us to risk the health and well-being of all these wrestlers. I’m not gonna have an offseason, but there will be a lighter schedule and we’ll work people in and out.”Click Here: nsw blues jersey
