Becky Lynch's Raw announcement could involve handing over title

An announcement by Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is set for tonight’s post-Money in the Bank episode of Raw and according to one news outlet, she could be relinquishing the Raw women’s title.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported this afternoon that Lynch “will be making a huge announcement regarding her career” on Raw tonight, later confirmed by WWE with a tweet. Further details about what the announcement weren’t revealed, but the segment has already been filmed.

PWInsider later reported that Lynch will vacate the title to Money In The Bank winner Asuka, but won’t reveal the reason why until it’s made public by Lynch tonight.

Tonight will be Lynch’s first appearance on Raw since April 13 and her confronting Asuka was advertised for the show. The latter won this year’s women’s Money in the Bank ladder match by defeating Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, and Carmella. The men’s and women’s MITB ladder matches took place simultaneously at WWE headquarters and were done cinematic-style.

Lynch tweeted last night about her appearance on Raw: “Haven’t been injured. Haven’t been talking much lately. So #Raw can’t come soon enough.”

In addition to more Money in the Bank fallout, tonight’s Raw will feature Edge and Randy Orton returning for the first time since WrestleMania 36.
