British designer label Burberry took over the New York skyline when the brand’s logos on top of the Burberry Americas HQ were lit for the first time. To celebrate the fifty-foot Burberry signage across Manhattan, the company’s Chief Executive Angela Ahrendts and Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey hosted an event with 300 guests. Among the invitees where celebs and socialites such as Orlando Boom, Claire Danes, Hugh Dancy, Helena Christensen, Lily Donaldson to name but a few.
Burberry also announced that a $500,000 commitment to the Robin Hood Foundation to support public education and job training in New York City is being made by The Burberry Foundation. To further celebrate the so called Burberry Day, 20% of all purchases which were made on the day in Burberry New York stores at 57th Street and Spring Street in SoHo were donated to The Burberry Foundation.
