L’Équipe have revealed that Lille are interested in Monaco’s promising attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche (20), whilst Foot Mercato have reported that Les Dogues are willing to pay up to €10m for the France U20 international.
Akliouche featured in Monaco’s 1-1 draw against PSG on Sunday evening, replacing the injured Kevin Volland in the 20th minute, before being substituted himself later in the second half. However, during that time, Akliouche showed signs of promise and he is being courted not only by Lille, but also by Lorient, Werder Bremen and Real Sociedad.
Lille are interested in signing the Monaco attacker on a permanent basis and are prepared to spend €10m (including bonuses) to tempt the Principality club to sell.
However, any transfer could prove difficult. As L’Équipe have reported, Monaco are unwilling to let the player leave and his current deal runs until 2024. Due to the impending departure of Sofiane Diop, and the potential long-term absence of Kevin Volland due to injury, Philippe Clement is hoping to count on the player for the rest of the season.
