Lille have finalised an agreement with São Paulo for the signing of Thiago Mendes for a fee reaching €9m.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder confirmed his departure from the Brazilian side in a press conference: “The club did everything they could to keep me but I wanted to go, it is my decision.”

Lille are set to announce the deal this week. He will join his former team-mate Luiz Araujo under the Bielsa project.
