As previously noted, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose has been cleared to return to the ring, with several sources reporting that his return is imminent; potentially as early as this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view.
However, The Wrap is reporting that the “Lunatic Fringe” is actually scheduled to return to WWE Raw tonight at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. While the website does not generally specialize in breaking pro wrestling news, they have proven to be a consistent name in the entertainment world news, so their report is at least worth noting.
Ambrose has been out of action since December with a torn triceps injury that required surgery. When he left television at the end of the year, he was still teaming with Seth Rollins in a lengthy feud with The Bar over the Raw Tag Team Championships. It’s expected that when Dean returns to WWE, he will come to the aid of Seth Rollins, and might appear in Rollins’ corner for his WWE IC Title match against Ziggler at SummerSlam.
