Nikki Cross Teases A Change To Her Character; “Time To Step Out Of The Dark”

Nikki Cross may be teasing the start to a major change in her character’s direction. The WWE Superstar was interviewed following a frustrating loss on this week’s episode of Main Event, essentially hitting rock bottom.

While Nikki is generally more — let’s just say, insane, whenever the cameras are rolling, this time the newest member of the Monday Night Raw roster was unusually reserved.

“Tonight was my chance to make an impact on Main Event, and I lost. Is there something I need to change, here? Do I need to change? Do I just fight from the ground-up, scratching and clawing? What needs to change? Why am I always talking in the dark? Maybe it’s time to step out of the dark and take a long, good hard look in the mirror.”

Cross has been wrestling for more than a decade, and first signed with WWE NXT in 2016. She had a solid run as one of the brand’s top female stars, unsuccessfully challenging for the NXT Women’s Championship on three different Takeover specials throughout Asuka’s historic reign.

Unfortunately, Cross has been lost in the mix since her Sanity faction was moved to the main roster without her. She remained in NXT for several months before eventually reaching the main roster back in November, but has never been used consistently, and the prevailing theory is that the WWE creative team just doesn’t know what to do with her character.
