Now Bengal Enters Statue Race, To Build Two Statues Of Former Congress Leader Priya Ranjan Das

Statues of leaders who were an integral part of Indianpolitical history are being erected in different states of India. We have had the Statue of Unity made in honour of Sardar Patel followed by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Memorial, B.R Ambedkar Memorial and aCauvery statue or a tower in Karnataka are also in line.

A statue of Tamil Nadu’s most loved leader, Jayalalithaa was unveiled last week. However, a statue of any recent leader in Indian politics hasn’t been established. A Trinamul councillor of Raiganj municipality made an announcement on Wednesday to the astonishment of many that he wanted a bronze statue of Congress politician, Priya Ranjan Das in his ward.

The Telegraph reported that the councillor wanted the sculpture of the politician to be installed within a month.
