Ric Flair Currently Hospitalized, Rep Asks Fans to Send ‘Prayers’

It was reported earlier this week by Pro Wrestling Sheet that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair had been hospitalized. Flair was said to be going to the hospital with his family due to a heart-related issue, but a representative of his assured everyone that he was merely going in for “routine monitoring.” The rep also told fans not to worry about Flair’s condition. Something apparently drastically changed during his time there, because now Flair’s condition appears to be a serious one. Flair’s management head Melina Morris Zanoni, the same representative that was previously mentioned, seems to have her attitude on the subject completely changed.

“The Nature Boy’s” condition must have turned out to be something far more serious as Zanoni asked for fans on Twitter to pray for Flair. He was cited as having some “tough medical issues.” The director of the upcoming 30 for 30 ESPN special on Flair, Roy Karpf also asked fans to keep Flair in their thoughts as he undergoes this difficult issue. PWInsider later chimed in with some news concerning Flair’s status. The report mentions again that Flair is in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia due to a heart-related issue. No news that specifies what exactly the issue with Flair’s heart is has been released as of yet, however, multiple sources have been speculating all day.
The PWInsider report mentions that Flair revealed in his To Be the Man autobiography that he has alcoholic cardiomyopathy. This condition can be brought on by years of alcohol abuse which can cause the heart to stop pumping blood effectively. Again, the exact reason why Flair is in the hospital at all has not been confirmed as of yet. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer is celebrated as one of the greatest wrestlers in history, so it goes without saying that a ton of performers in the business have been paying tribute to Flair. Here’s hoping that Ric Flair will be able to fight out of this deeply serious issue and get back to stylin’ and proflin’ soon.
