UFC’s Cris Cyborg Calls out Ronda Rousey on Twitter: “Let’s Make Wrestling Real Again”

UFC star Cris Cyborg has once again called out Ronda Rousey on Twitter. The former Featherweight champion threw out the challenge on March 14 but did not tag Rousey in the Tweet.

This is not the first time that Cyborg has mentioned Rousey on Twitter. Ronda has yet to respond, though many WWE fans would surely love to see the match happen in Vince McMahon’s ring. Cyborg is an 11-year veteran of MMA but she’s still going strong and is currently No.15 in UFC’s official pound-for-pound rankings.

That means she may not be stepping into a WWE ring any time soon. But considering that Rousey’s fellow MMA fighters Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir are also signed with WWE, the fact is that anything can happen with Cyborg.

Many fans believe that The Baddest Woman on the Planet will leave WWE sometime in 2019, though she’s reportedly under contract with the company through 2021. The Sun reported in February that Rousey was unwilling to recommit to WWE, based on a story that claimed Vince McMahon’s company had an interest in signing Cyborg.

But Cyborg was supposedly in talks with AEW and if that’s indeed the case, then WWE likely doesn’t want to test the waters with her. WWE has not officially commented on this situation, so it’s unknown if there was ever serious interest in brining Cyborg to the fold.

Rousey is on her way to the main event of WrestleMania 35, where she will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match.
