This 200-Year-Old ‘Military’ Mosque In Kerala Offers ‘Green’ Iftar To People From Every Faith

The holy month of Ramadan brings stories about brotherhood and sharing. When it is about ‘God’s own country’ Kerala, it has to be special. This is about a mosque – in the city of Trivandrum – that was built for soldiers, two centuries ago.

Sharing itsborder with a Hindu shrine, it offered Muslim members of the royal army a place to offer their prayers and ‘eidgah’ near their cantonment in the capital city.
